Fabulous brunch experience. Fresh pastries, fluffy eggs, incredible thick cut bacon and the best part of the whole meal was the polenta waffle - light and fluffy with the most incredible apple and crumble on top! Thank you to the Gioia team for a great Sunday birthday brunch! 🎉🫶🏻

First time —despite the large number of diners, the food was delicious, hot, and served within very reasonable time by a very attentive, friendly and "joyful" professional staff. Wonderful and creative preparation of our dishes and dessert with nuanced and original use of herbs and flavors. Choice of portion sizes and price range makes it a place everyone can enjoy, not just wealthy diners. Only complaint is it's a very loud room to attempt a conversation and some more sound baffling on walls could help.

My third visit and each time I have enjoyed myself. The room is delightful. The food is outstanding and the service is very comfortable and friendly.

Gioia is one of if not the best restaurants in the area, it is by far my favorite. I’m a sous chef of prominent restaurant in Milwaukee visiting New Haven, this is my second time eating here, the first time I had their brunch which was impeccable. Tonight’s dinner was one of the best I’ve had in a while! The kitchen team is incredibly talented from the chef team down through every cook, the pasta dishes we had were all perfectly cooked, seasoned exactly how it needed to be, and balanced and thoughtful. The appetizers equally impressive. The apple crostada special with malted milk gelato was perhaps the best dessert I’ve had, definitely top 3. We sampled several other offerings ok the dessert menu as well. I cannot wait for my next visit to New Haven so I can come back, both the front of house and back of house are worthy of all the praise! Thank you for an incredible night!

It was a girls night and we had a great time at Gioia! We shared a vegetarian entree for our app - delicata squash with lentils in agrodolce sauce - amazing! We enjoyed our entrees. I was particularly pleased that they offered gluten free pasta so that I could have the farro pasta dish. The small-size pasta dish was more than enough. Looking forward to returning.

We ordered a fennel salad, cacio e pepi gnocchi and a goat cheese pizza. Each dish was absolutely delicious! Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. It was a memorable dining experience!

Wow! We were so very pleased with our dining experience. From the moment you enter the restaurant the entire team is focused on meeting your expectations. We were delighted and highly recommend this restaurant. The menu has something on it that will please your palate and make your mouth dance. This is going to be our new favorite restaurant!

I absolutely loved eating here! Our server Robert was great, the ravioli was super flavorful and delicious (I guess they just updated the recipe), and it was a great price point! I will definitely be back!
