I’m so excited to announce the second restaurant in partnership with hotel giant Melia, is Gino D’Acampo Quayside.

It’s a beautiful light, open plan restaurant with floor to ceiling windows that lets the natural light flood it – it’s a real mood booster. That’s not all, we also have a huge contemporary terrace overlooking the iconic River Tyne, I can’t wait for you to see it.

Serving real Italian food as it should be, the menu really does have something for everyone. Check out my new lounge bar as well, it serves one of the biggest selections of Prosecco, sparkling wine and Franciacorta in the UK, with over 30 varieties for you to choose from. Pop by for a drink after work or enjoy one or two while you dine, the choice is yours.

Food was delicious, service was great, lovely setting, it was our anniversary and they brought us out a glass of proseco each which was lovely. Just a really lovely restaurant.

On arrival we had to wait while the lady on the restaurant reception finished whatever she was doing on her computer; not the best welcome. Another member of staff at the bar noticed this. We were shown to our table and had to wait a while until we were offered a drink. The lady that took the order lacked in energy and the welcome felt pretty flat. We asked to move tables as it was cold near the window. We were then shown to a much better table. The member of staff that then looked after us in this part of the restaurant was brilliant. She was happy, smiley and very attentive; this changed the experience completely. Thank you! We did pass on our comments to her at the end of the evening.

Poor service! The restaurant was empty, but the waiters don't want to work and did not help us any time. Terrible experience!

Ordered the garlic bread with the two cheeses and the courgette fries. Both very good.We then ordred calzone, we had the same. These were disappointing , when they were cut open a large amount of tomato juice came out. The filling was very soggy and somehow the peppers just didn’t work. We have ordered the calzone on a previous visit and enjoyed it.would not order again. It's a shame, the evening was so disappointing as we have visited Gino’s on other occasions and enjoyed our evening. Found the service helpful and pleasant

Starters were nice but moth main courses very disappointing. One was particularly bland and not eaten. Was deducted from Bill when I informed waitress Really friendly and efficient waiting staff

Friendly staff and service, music was loud but maybe our age! The food was very mediocre, seafood linguine, and king prawn tagliatelle, not particularly tasty and the pasta overcooked. It’s on par with a middle of the road chain doesn’t come close to a higher end Italian restaurant.
