I’m so excited to announce the third restaurant in partnership with hotel giant Melia, is Gino D’Acampo Old Hall Street.

It’s a beautiful modern open plan restaurant with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Old Hall Street. Talking of skylines, you have to visit Sky Bar 360 on the top floor, it’s a huge contemporary terrace which has unrivalled views over Liverpool and the River Mersey, I can’t wait for you to see it.

Serving real Italian food as it should be, the menu really does have something for everyone. Check out my new lounge bar as well, it serves one of the biggest selections of Prosecco, sparkling wine and Franciacorta in the UK, with over 30 varieties for you to choose from. Pop by for a drink after work or enjoy one or two while you dine, the choice is yours.

Overall we had a lovely meal , prices are fractionally higher than other places we go but not excessively high . The food was lovely and well presented. All the staff were very nice, welcoming and attentive. Thank you all

Pleasant experience. Food and ambience excellent. Bit of a wait for our booked table but we were given complimentary drinks for the inconvenience

Great food, just a couple of minor points on service. We were offered dessert before we’d had our mains and someone else’s mains were bought to our table in error.

This was the 2nd time we’ve eaten here & service was nowhere near as good as the first time. They seemed to be flying about but not achieving anything. The sky bar was closed for a private function so we had a cocktail in the sofa area they were slow to come but it could have been her first day so allowances have to be made. We had to ask twice for an ice bucket, our server seemed like she had somewhere she’d rather be. Service was slightly slow but we weren’t in a rush. I had linguine seafood & the mussels didn’t have any mussels in, they hadn’t fallen out & we’re in the pasta, only a few of the clams were there & the calamari was slightly overcooked. The flavours were good though. Dessert menus were given but we waited that long for them to come back to see if we wanted anything we decided not to bother.. as we were visiting our son & his partner & were out with them we didn’t complain as didn’t want to cause a scene & spoil the evening, my son hates scenes. The evening was lovely as we hadn’t seen them for 6 months but the service could have been better.

From being groped outside to having a block of cheese dropped in the pasta the whole experience was not worth the £160 bill. Granted my food was lovely but the rest of the table were left unsatisfied with their meals. The ravioli left one guest still hungry. The pesto pasta was blank and the seafood linguine was ok. The waitress was rude and never brought the tap water, we ordered to the table, had to ask several other staff members to get some. She was obnoxious and acted like she would rather be serving anyone else but us. When the garlic bread arrived we were not given any plates to eat off of and when asking for some the food runner only brought over one plate for the table of four of us and seemed shocked when we asked for another three. When we asked for some Parmesan for the pasta he looked confused and then proceeded to drop the whole block in to one of the guests dished picked it out and carried on serving to the rest of us. The whole ordeal was not worth the hype and we will definitely not be returning. We reluctantly paid the £15 service charge but the service was deserving of this at all. Have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant.

Experience can only be described as underwhelming. Food was ok. Our party had the Trofie with smoked salmon which was very salty and the Cavatelli Alla Norma (aubergine). The latter was requested as both a main and kids portion. Not much difference in size but a £10 price difference between them! Dessert was a slab of Tiramisu which was pleasant enough. Restaurant is set in a massive block which houses a hotel and the 360 rooftop bar offering great views of the docks. Had a very industrial feel to it and we were also very disappointed to be the only party sat opposite the kitchen away from all other diners. Plenty of seats near the window and we regret not asking to be moved. We did feel very isolated especially as restaurant was nowhere near capacity. Not sure why we were seated where we were though. Overall an ok dining experience. We would not be in a rush to return. There are a lot more value for money Italian dining options in Liverpool and I do think the name accounts for the appeal. Tips - request window seats. Make a visit to the rooftop bar if you have time and only pay the optional service charge if you’re happy to do so. We requested it to be removed as service was ok but nothing outstanding.

First Italian I have ever been to when I have had to request Parmesan with my main meal and black pepper . Waiting staff seem disinterested . At no point was I offered any drinks or to see the desert menu . Very poor service .
