Situated on the High Street of Eton, close to the River Thames and between the historic buildings of Eton College and Windsor Castle, Gilbey's is open from 12 noon for lunch and 6pm for dinner every day.
Originally an old butcher's shop, we created one of the first wine bars outside London in 1975 - The Eton Wine Bar. After 25 years of success, we changed the name in 2000 to Gilbey's, having recognised that our food had outgrown the original wine bar concept. Our friendly and efficient team look forward to welcoming you in either the stunning Conservatory Restaurant, cosy Front Bar and Townhouse, one of our newly opened Townhouse guest bedrooms or our top floor studio apartment-our exclusive guest accommodation.

Lovely host, clean and tidy eatery, service very goog, but value for money I don’t think so. I can’t get over 5 chips for £6.50, it left a bitter taste in my mind. So won’t be returning. Sorry

Underwhelming experience. Staff were very helpful and nice but the place has no atmosphere and is overpriced.

Fabulous service from the moment we stepped in. Food was delicious. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! Would recommend the Eton Mess!

An old favourite that did not disappoint after a break of a number of years since we had been here. Food was delcious and service excellent. Nice and casual, friendly and good ambiance. Been coming here for over 45 years!

We enjoyed a lovely relaxed lunch at Gilbey's. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We had a great table by the front window. The menu is extensive and every dish was delicious. Really great to have gluten free options. Would highly recommend and will be back!

Gilbert’s has long been a favourite venue - lovely wine bar ambience and imaginative but beautifully simple food. Regular spot to catch up with an old friend over lunch - lunch menu very reasonably priced too

We had a pleasant lunch from the set lunch menu. The food was well cooked and well presented. The only downside was the overall price. Even with all 3 of us sticking with the 2 course set lunch menu, when you added a couple of glasses of wine and some coffee plus service, the bill still came to £40 per head, which seemed quite high.

Very good choice and value on lunch menus, very good food quality. Our waitress was excellent - efficient and friendly, even noted on the bill the price per person, obviously realised we were sharing. We were the only people there when we arrived so a bit too quiet, but a couple of other tables filled up before we left
