Gi-Jin is a gin and raw bar that re-imagines the sushi experience where we marry global ingredients with traditional Japanese flavors to create inspired combinations of color, technique, and style.

Our intimate space operates on a reservation-only basis for parties of
no more than FOUR (4) people per table and ONE/TWO per seating at our counter.
Online reservations are always open with real-time availability.
Each reservation seating is designated 2 hours per booking.

We do not allow any outside alcohol. if you have a request for a specific beverage please email info@gijinpgh.com prior to your visit and we will try our best to bring it in!

We recently ate at Gi-Jin, and while the food was good and the staff was polite, we were disappointed by an issue with our meal. There was a piece of what seemed to be plastic in one of our hand rolls, which was concerning, especially for an upscale restaurant. It could have been a potentially safety hazard, and we expected better. The staff did give us two extra pieces of sushi, but the roll wasn’t taken off the bill, which was surprising given the situation. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but for a high-end sushi bar, we expected higher standards and a far better response.

I have been following Gi-Jin on Insta for a few years, hoping to eat there. The food was just as amazing as the pictures! The team was awesome and I will definitely be coming back!

Made a reservation over a month in advance. Requested a table online but when we got there they told us tables aren't available for parties of two. And yet they seated parties of two at tables while we were there! We arrived on time and then had to wait fifteen minutes for our table while the disorganized staff was running around doing other things. The place was not full. They were just disorganized. Staff did not consider my request to sit at a table and we were stuck at the sushi bar in front of a sink. We decided to stay because it was late and we didn’t want to try to find another place to eat. And we had heard that the food was good. The food came and we requested wasabi to eat with our sushi. It took 10 minutes to arrive. The portions are very small and very expensive. The plates include a lot of radish, leaves, Kimchee, ginger, lettuce, and other garnishes. Not much fish. Same with the hand rolls. Cocktail and sake were good but expensive. My cocktail was $19. Altogether it was very unsatisfying and frustrating and I’ll never eat there again.

Intimate space with a modern Asian influenced decor. The craft cocktails are made with fresh ingredients (even the Cranberry juice is homemade) and are very unique. They have a large variety of specialty gins and sake. The Nigiri special was outstanding>> 5 different pieces of fish that were specific to Japan (not your run of the mill types found on every sushi menu) They were beautifully prepared and displayed ($51 for 5 pieces). The tuna pizza is a delicious appetizer (spring onion crust topped with spicy tuna and parm) The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Great experience overall.

Hand rolls and appetizers were not good. 2/4 cocktails we had were good. Nigiri was great but for $11 per piece this is to be expected. Service and staff was fantastic.

A truly lovely experience. The selection of sake is well curated for the menu and the hand rolls I had were very tasty. The toro hand roll was exceptional. Excellent service and a chill, easy going vibe. If I lived in Pittsburgh this would be a place I regularly visit.
