We all enjoyed our visit to the George iv. The seating was lovely and not too close to others. Service was excellent and food was perfectly cooked and presented well .

The staff were under a lot of pressure and absolutely did their best. I was disappointed they ran out of steak as it made the set menu very limited but the food was, nevertheless, of a high standard. I don’t think having 2 for 1 drinks was a good idea on a busy night with only 1 barman. He deserves a medal. Loved the music and ambience and will definitely go again, but hope they’re more organised.

Hi Yolande, thank you for the review and we were extremely busy with a substantial number of walk-ins on the day. We order fresh food daily based upon reservations and staff the premises accordingly, allowing for margin of error. However, the high numbers that arrived without booking did create an issue that day.

We stuck with the snacking menu - all dishes had were done to the highest level. Service great as always, food choice is varied, especially the small plates menu. Nothing is lack lustre. Wish the outdoor tables were more comfortable and less bistro-esque… Not that they are uncomfortable, just small and a little cumbersome by way of champagne/prosecco flutes sliding or toppling and upper leg attice effect (never a good look) from the un-cushioned chairs - outdoor seating only. Staff and food perfect as usual. Great summer pub (and a cosy winter one too!!!)

Visiting many times for dinner and lunch, never had a bad meal. Food is always fresh and amazing, and the service is always great. Staff are super friendly and accommodating, definitely recommend.

My partner and I love the George and visit often and enjoy it more and more each time! We had the special Tomahawk Pork which was delicious.

Great Sunday lunch (beef and pork) plus kiddies meal. Staff were very good and atmosphere was nice and busy. Staff were working hard and made us feel welcome. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Loved the sharing plate menu and only 1 item we wanted had sold out. Our main waitress was quite forgetful but the bar and serving staff were really great . Highly recommend for any kind of social event.
