Lovely pub, especially on a sunny day, but the roast dinners we had were poor. Meat and potatoes were good but the rest of the veg wasn’t cooked, at all, other than to somehow harden it. Also 2 of the 3 drinks were not what we asked for. And 2 plates arrived with a long pause until the third arrived, then we waited for the cutlery. Needs to be much better to get repeat business. The chicken and ham pie was good.

It was great to see the George so busy. The food was well presented and well cooked, I’d have liked more buttered green vegetables, or at least the waitress should have recommended a vegetable side as it seemed more of a garnish than a serving. But otherwise, well done! A great start for the new managers, we won’t hesitate to go back to our local!

We had a lovely meal and it was all home made. Service was great despite there not being many staff.

Sunday lunch was lovely but not worth the money to the quantity. Had a lovely welcome from the lady who was preparing for the day as we arrived early for our booking.

Badly stocked bar, several of the standard drinks ordered were not available, several items not available on the menu and when the food arrived, it was tepid. The 2 young bar/waiting staff did the best they could but this place has definitely gone down hill and I will not be returning anytime soon.... apparently a change in management!

Lovely local pub that has underperformed of late and tonight was no exception Excellent venue , table waiting staff cheerful and welcoming Food at best average. Fish and chips OK , trout grossly overcooked, pie contained more pastry than meat Timothy Taylor bitter excellent This could be a first class local venue but lacking in quality re food

It was the most unwelcoming experience, it was like we were an inconvenience. All the right questions we asked but there was not one smile throughout our experience. We would not go back again.

Filthy pub, poor quality food, looks nothing like the pictures, hadn’t eaten for 14 hours after a flight so stayed, will never return, avoid if possible…drove past some lovely looking pubs after!
