    First time to Chicago and our team loved this Italian steakhouse. The food was excellent and the service was superb. Would definitely come back when I visit Chicago. Highly recommend.

    Gene and Georgetti is an established, historic Chicago steakhouse, opened in 1941. This was our first visit there. While we enjoyed the atmosphere of the room itself and the service was professional, we were disappointed that the music being played ('90s pop/rock) did not match the elegance and old world feeling of the restaurant. Some easy jazz or singing by Sinatra would have enhanced the sense of history and romanticism. And while the food including the steaks was good, it did not rise to the value expected for what the evening cost. On our next visit to the Windy City, we will try a different place.

    Enjoyed the ambiance and service. Steak was chewy and not what we thought it would be but had to try the famous Gene and Georgetti’s !!

    Always a pleasure dining here. The bone in ribeye is done perfectly each visit and the menu has so much variety and choice, you never tire of visiting. Drinks are served exactly to your asking and the service is superb. Enjoy!

    Having not been to Gene and Georgetti’s, i was expecting a little more in terms of quality. The filet mignon and NY Strip were merely “ok”- more fat than expected on the Strip steak, and upon being served; the meat was not hot, like traditional steak house presentation, but “ warm” ; the meat was cooked but seemed harder to cut with more fat than i am used to. The filet , was “ok” , but again, the question is was the meat “prime” or something lesser? In reading about dress as “ business casual”, i was surprised to see jeans and sneakers were the norm. We were dressed as per business casual. The service was the best aspect; the waiters and staff were attentive and friendly.

    I went there for my birthday and it was incredible. We had Eggplant Parmigiana and 8oz. Filet. They were great and the overall experience was top notch.
