This evening we hosted our Sales Team for an annual holiday dinner at Geist. We were treated so rudely by your hostess upon arrival. I arrived at 4:20 and was told you didn’t open until 4:30 which was fine. Our reservation was at 4:30 so I waited outside. We had a reservation for six guests and at 4:30 three of us walked in… to be told that the “majority” of our party needed to be present. Isn’t 50% the majority? We waited around for 15 mins awkwardly staring at an empty restaurant. I approached the hostess stand again requesting to be seated. I was given some lame excuse about the chef wanting all food orders at the same time… which I understand but also think putting your chefs wants over your patrons is bad business. I told her we would like to be seated and order drinks. She quickly mentioned a $60 per person minimum that we STILL cannot find listed anywhere. It was such an insulting and frankly low brow comment to make to guests. We were finally seated at 4:55 and spent well over this unknown minimum on food and drinks. Our server was fabulous and even gave us a free dessert due to the ridiculous and embarrassing situation over being given our reserved seat in your empty restaurant. Your hostess needs a lesson in hospitality and your policies over not seating a full party in an empty restaurant are laughable. The entire room had only three tables seated until after 6:30pm. Why would we ever be made to wait? We are all also in the hospitality industry in downtown Nashville and take pride in accommodating our guests and ensuring they have a wonderful experience with us. You should do the same. We will not be back.

Fun & festive place to enjoy a lovely dinner. Worth the effort to get a reservation while they have it decorated for Christmas.

Went for the Christmas atmosphere but was even more impressed with the food and service!! It was beyond my expectations.

Overall the food was great. The service was very attentive. Sitting near the bar was very noise but expected.

Wow. We were skeptical on ordering the duck and lamb but they were both cooked to perfection- best of both we have ever had… and the plating was simply beautiful. We loved the ambiance of the nutcracker decor - it was magical.

Met a few girl friends for brunch before Christmas. It was beautifully decorated, busy, and joyous inside! Food and drinks were tasty and prompt!

Geist at Christmas was nothing short of spectacular!! I went for the amazing decorations I had seen online, I was shocked and happy to say the food was outstanding as well! It’s do not miss for sure and we will be going back ASAP! Definitely make reservations!
