Welcome to Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar –Globally Inspired Modern Prairie Cuisine

Around the world, people gather with food for celebration, ceremony, and connection. Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar, located in The Leaf at Assiniboine Park, explores food from across cultures, incorporating fresh, locally-sourced, and seasonal ingredients from our gardens. Craveable dishes incorporate traditional flavours and techniques from around the world, inspired by the nature that surrounds us all. Pickled, preserved, fermented or straight off the vine, local ingredients are creatively prepared to highlight the amazing growers and farmers in Manitoba. Inventive, botanical cocktails made with herbs grown in-house, seasonal fruits, and house-made syrups will delight the senses.

Very nice experience at this lovely restaurant. Service was great and ambience was relaxing and elegant. Food was good. Had the risotto and their salad with seared tuna. We especially enjoyed the grilled foccacia bread. Would love to return and try some more of their other dishes.

Food was excellent. We didn’t feel rushed and our server was pleasant and helpful.

The service staff could use more training. I should not have to ask first my wine glass to be refilled, while they are standing at the table asking me if everything is okay. Dishes from one course should be removed before the next course is brought out. Finally I had to ask another server to remove our dirty dishes after we were done. We waited almost 20 minutes for another dishes server to remove our dishes.

Oof. We were so disappointed. This is the restaurant at The Leaf. We had such high hopes. Our food was over seasoned and yet missing something. This is honestly the first time I can recall not finishing a dish at a restaurant because I just didn’t like it. Normally I feel like since I’ve paid for something I should finish it but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Our server was pleasant but it took ages to get our drinks- we waited at least 20 minutes for my husband to get a coke. The cocktails were very tasty but again took way too long to get to us. We won’t dine here again. And I would recommend everyone save their money and dine elsewhere. There are SO many better restaurants in this city.

The cheese puffs appetizer, pork tenderloin ,and beef ragu were excellent.

This was my first visit to Gather but definitely not the last. The food was all great. We particularly enjoyed the buratto. The focaccia chips were great. We also had the cheese puffs and the pork belly with egg sous-vide. The food was ample for sharing. These were all small plates and I would like to return and sample the larger portions. We arrived promptly at opening so it was quite quiet. I had the hibiscus sparkler and found it just sweet enough and very refreshing.
