The glass-fronted restaurant offering diners sensational sea views and a brand new dining experience in Dumfries and Galloway is the latest addition to Laggan, the rural destination of excellence near Gatehouse of Fleet. Gather will provide visitors and locals with delicious bistro style meals.

Head Chef Murray McDavid will be leading the team and menu design. With over 10 years of kitchen experience, a travelling stint across the world resulted in four years working in Australia and New Zealand, allowing him to learn and adopt a modern cafe dining culture. These international flavours and dishes will be reflected on Gather’s menu. Gather will be open Monday - Thursday 9am - 7pm and Friday - Sunday 9am - 9pm.

Absolutely stunning venue, feels intimate and staff are very welcoming, happy to help and put you at ease. We had breakfast but there were several small issues. My daughter had the full English and her sausages had been cremated. I had a bacon roll and it was nice but the bottom of the roll was soaked in grease! My husband had the pancake stack and that was amazing, very tasty and a really generous portion. I thought the pricing was reasonable and have previously been for lunch and been blown away by the food but I guess someone was having an off day in the kitchen. Would still go back and try again!

Staying in Laggan Snugs, my wife and I breakfasted at Gather on four occasions. The food and service were exemplary every time. We are not 'full breakfast' fans but when my wife asked for something not on the menu it was supplied easily without fuss. If we return to the area we will return and are happy to recommend.

Spectacular location, lovely ambience, and really nice staff. We were a party of 5 celebrating my mums 89th birthday. Everything was perfect. All the food was really nice, with the exception of my beef burger, which was overcooked, dry, and chewy. But it hasn't put me off going again as everyone else in our party really enjoyed their food and the whole experience.

Beautiful setting looking out to sea across countryside. Big portions, super tasty with a varied enough menu. Great value. The food matches the setting. On a sunny day outside tables afford superb views. We ate dinner and breakfast here and will definitely be back.

Another wonderful visit to Gather. Service here is exceptional; Julie and Hannah were extremely helpful and friendly; nothing was too much trouble. With stunning views and very good food, we will keep on going back!

The food was simply amazing (lamb!) We were so pleased. Very nice staff too, friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful venue and views. Fabulous food and very attentive staff. My 6 year old took a teddy and joked about having a highchair for her - Massimo got one straight away! Massimo and Shona were brilliant. Would definitely return.

A lovely way to celebrate Fathers Day. Shona and her colleagues ( apologies for not taking their names) were very attentive, friendly and efficient. We had a table from where we could take in the fantastic view and our brunch was excellent.
