The glass-fronted restaurant offering diners sensational sea views and a brand new dining experience in Dumfries and Galloway is the latest addition to Laggan, the rural destination of excellence near Gatehouse of Fleet. Gather will provide visitors and locals with delicious bistro style meals.

Head Chef Murray McDavid will be leading the team and menu design. With over 10 years of kitchen experience, a travelling stint across the world resulted in four years working in Australia and New Zealand, allowing him to learn and adopt a modern cafe dining culture. These international flavours and dishes will be reflected on Gather’s menu. Gather will be open Monday - Thursday 9am - 7pm and Friday - Sunday 9am - 9pm.

The restaurant has a location that is to die for with superb views of the bay. The food was tasty but expensive and you are paying a premium for the location.

Staff were amazing. Attentive and thoughtful. This was a special birthday treat for my daughter who was 16 . Food delicious and affordable. Loved the location. There was a large table of 24 to serve but that didn't affect us too much which I was surprised with. The staff handled everything with care and kindness.

Excellent service, with order taken shortly after receiving our menu. Food was freshly prepared eg poached eggs runny, not hard, yokes. One of our party requested toasted bread rather than a toasted bagel. This was no problem to the servers. Most enjoyable venue. Will most certainly be back.

Second visit - last morning of week’s holiday in Galloway prior to drive back to Manchester; excellent breakfast; window view table despite restaurant being busy with post-wedding party (would have been easy to have relegated us to table without view); prices surprisingly similar to those of of initial visit in September 2023; already looking forward to third visit …
