Join us for a unique dining experience that is unmatched in the Napa Valley. Set on the historic campus of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone, Gatehouse Restaurant showcases the talents of CIA students who have completed two years of rigorous study, under the supervision of our world-class faculty. Enjoy a meal inspired by local produce from the college’s own farms and gardens, and other high-quality ingredients. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

We live in Napa Valley haven’t been there in quite some time. It was an amazing experience. We were celebrating Valentine’s Day early and our anniversary. They were very special about the occasion. The food was excellent and the staff superb

Attentive service, though the wine pairings were sometimes late. Food was delightful as always. Quail was amazing. Pici All’anatra was perfect as well.

We had a wonderful time dining and experiencing the beautiful four course meal. The cured trout and halibut were highlights, but everything was outstanding and perfectly plated. The chai creme brûlée was so fresh and the perfect way to end our meal. The service was incredible and everyone was so kind. Can’t wait to go back!

Great experience eating here. The students are learning so if you come in with that expectation, you won't be disappointed. The food is very good. Wine pairings we're on point.

What a find! We selected the 3 course. Wife had the beet salad and I had the ox-tail dumplings in brodo. For mains it was Braised Short Ribs and Pancetta Wrapped Pork Tenderloin. For dessert Meyer Lemon Tart and Warm San Quinton Apple Cake. Everything was excellent. Great flavors. The bread, butter, hummus and chips were also a nice addition. Wait staff was prompt and knowledgeable and if they didn't know they asked the chef and came back with an answer.

The Gatehouse is a special experience. We were certainly not disappointed. The entire staff was superb. The experience of witnessing and participating as the students learn, showcase their skillsets, and ultimately demonstrate their real world practice is an enjoyable way to savor the flavor of the Napa Valley. I cannot recommend an evening out here to those interested in witnessing the next generation of fine cuisine cutting their teeth.

My wife and I dined at The Gatehouse at CIA for the first time tonight, and it did not disappoint. While three experienced professors directing, the approaching-graduation students staff the kitchen and dining room. Its four menu options for each of the four courses (or three courses if you skip dessert) for a fixed price are bound to satisfy the winery-visiting masses. The restaurant does not skimp on quality of food nor attention to detail. Any lack of serving experience was more than compensated by the sheer volume & attentiveness of staff. From beef carpaccio to arancini to risotto limone w/shrimp to squash ravioli to striped bass to spicy pork loin to chocolate budino, we shared inspired dishes worthy of this historic Napa Valley historic venue. We counted 16 tables so book reservations well in advance.
