Ripped menu, cold food, small portions, packaged bought in food. Flat warm sparkling water. Overly priced. Dry fish. Chewy steak.

My daughter and I had the set menu as part of a Spa overnight booking. Our booking was for 6.30. We were shown to a lovely table located in one of the bay windows. The staff were attentive and helpful, the food was beautiful and the whole experience was relaxing. The restaurant did get busier later in the evening.

The meal was booked to celebrate a birthday (although we didn’t mention this as we didn’t want a fuss). It took 15 mins to get a drinks order and the restaurant away only half full. They bought my husbands beer but didn’t bring my wine as they couldn’t read the order! I finally got it 10mins later after attracting attention. It took a further 45 mins for the steak to arrive (we hadn’t ordered starters) so time wise it’s now nearly 20:15 when we had a table booked for 19:00. We had asked for medium cooked ribeye - both were very well done and we couldn’t attract attention to make this known and as we were both really hungry by this point just ate it! Only on clearing the plates were we asked about the meal and the waiter said he would let chef know - no apology. We ordered the crème brûlée for desert and hoped to see flecks of the vanilla pod - alas no - quite cheaply made - not even the crispy top. Overall, we were very underwhelmed and disappointed as it was an expensive meal which was distinctly average at best. More staff needed and better quality of food and service need to happen to make an improvement. I would not recommend!!

The food was really delicious and served nice and hot. The room is very nice, slightly spoiled by unattractive curtains but did not detract from the excellent food.

An enjoyable meal. Wine and sides a tad expensive but overall we had a nice evening. The staff were extremely busy but friendly, attentive and provided a high level of service.

The service was unexpectedly poor. Very nice people but perhaps understaffed therefore slow and inaccurate in executing orders. It is probably some of the the worst service I’ve experienced in the recent past. I found this very surprising

Service really let this afternoon tea down. There was plenty of staff but training was clearly off point. Everything just left on table, no explanation, trying to get staff attention for water or tea was really bad. First cup of tea not poured. Tried to charge me when I’d already paid. Food really mediocre for this venue. I’ve had afternoon tea here before and it has been so much better.
