The Restaurant at Gara - Capturing those special occasions and great dining experiences. Offering a tasting menu and set a la carte in our 2 rosette restaurant - please be advised four legged friends are not permitted - reservations essential.

Gara Kitchen - Relaxed dining in our new casual Gara Kitchen Restaurant - four legged friends welcome, reservations advisable.

From land to sea, we like to keep it local, wherever we can. Executive chef Paul Hegley delivers seasonal dishes featuring ingredients from near by producers and our own kitchen garden. A great view, fantastic service, comfortable surroundings, luxury without pretention at its best.

Had an amazing time ! The waiters were very lovely and new about the food, food tasted great, and we got a bottle of Prosecco because of my birthday which was so generous !

Great place for casual dining, the g was to much trouble….we had Gabe taking care of us and he was amazing….a real credit to GR

Beautiful view from this restaurant and spacious seating arrangement. The female team member was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to explain the ingredients for each course when asked. However another member of the team didn't appear to know how a wine cooler worked (ie ice and water not just ice!). The number of dishes on the a la carte menu was limited, especially if staying for more than a few days and wishing to ring the changes). It was especially disappointing that the Day Boat Catch Fish dish was Scottish Salmon, no remotely local. Both dinners tasted fine but were only warm. However the homemade peanut butter magnum with Butterscotch Sauce was excellent.

We chose the Tasting experience and were not disappointed. The beautiful setting was perfect and the food was outstanding !! Service was excellent and restaurant staff were very knowledgeable. Would strongly recommend.

The Vegan vegetable curry was good and the Ceasar Salad was excellent. In the evening though the menu is limited (as this is an all-day menu however in the evening the sandwiches with fries are not on offer). There were only 6 main course items and two of those were burgers (beef and vegan). I'd have liked to see a couple of other items or specials to increase the options, such as offering the wood-fired pizzas to dinner guests in the Kitchen restaurant (this option appears to have ended on 30 September).

This place is exceptional. My wife and I went for a night away from our daughter and had the summer tasting menu. It was utterly sublime. The staff were all fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful, the perfect balance between curiously attentive and polite avoidance. Everything was just right, even the tap water was good!

We did have dinner here the previous dinner, because Gara's Kitchen was closed, despite our confirmed booking. The menu is small, the specials were the same as the evening before and ordering dishes from the tasting menu was not possible. So we wanted to order from the menu of Gara's Kitchen. This was allowed when eating in our room. As there was only a very low table in our room, we asked to be allowed to eat in the Gara's Kitchen area, as guest fro the Restaurant that wanted to bring a dog are also allowed to eat in that area. Despite that, we still were only accepted to have our Gara's Kitchen food in our room. for us, it is still a mystery why nothing was done to accommodate a very simple wish.

We specifically reserved Gara Kitchen, because we we booked in the other restaurant at Gara Rock the next evening. Without informing us however, Gara Kitchen was closed and our reservation was transferred to this other restaurant, which was supposed to be better. we found the quality of the food disappointing.

We ate in the kitchen part of the restaurant which is for people with dogs. It was a lovely table and nice atmosphere as there seem to be more people I. There than the non dog part so not sure why they are separated now. Anyway the food was amazing!!! Loved it
