Gara Kitchen - Relaxed dining in our new casual Gara Kitchen Restaurant - four legged friends welcome, reservations advisable.

From land to sea, we like to keep it local, wherever we can. Executive chef Paul Hegley delivers seasonal dishes featuring ingredients from near by producers and our own kitchen garden. A great view, fantastic service, comfortable surroundings, luxury without pretention at its best.

Lovely food, the staff gave great service and looked after the little guys. Great wine list too. We will return.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Gara Rock this year. We had booked a table but decided to leave without eating. We talked to two other individual people who were leaving without eating as well. Both menus were very restricted and there was no flexibility between the menus. The member of staff who served us didn’t really appear to be interested in our complaints. We visit Salcombe most years and walk from the Ferry point to Gara Rock to have lunch. The last couple of years we have had a lovely meal. This year we took friends who had not been before, we highly recommended Gara Rock and found it quite embarrassing with the whole experience. We know we were not the only ones. We left feeling like Gara Rock didn’t really care about their customers. Very disappointing. However The Hope and Anchor in Hope Cove was completely different. Fantastic menu and customer service I highly recommend them.

Lovely setting for a very enjoyable meal. Service was very good-great welcome and friendly throughout Slightly slow delivering drinks Food was very good quality and well cooked Would be nice to have a little more variety on mains at the Kitchen Quite expensive-£26 for fish and chips, but a stunning location, so worth it for a treat

Brilliant dinner at Gara Rock. Food was superb and what a beautiful location. Staff were lovely and so friendly. Highly recommend.

Basically I think they forgot about us, an hour and a half to get our food, foods didn’t arrive at all and some were stone cold, and after the second time of asking for a hot one, they took so long we’d finished our food Very take it or leave disappointed as it was our wedding anniversary too

Naomi looked after us all evening and her knowledge and approach worked really well for us. Other staff were on hand and the teamwork felt seamless. Terrific food, service, decor, styling and of course ….. the view.

The staff were friendly with a good knowledge of the menu and answered all questions. We opted for two courses for dinner, and the service was longer than we expected. The flavours of our dinner options were outstanding and both the lamb and sea bass mains were cooked and presented to perfection.
