The ambience and drinks were wonderful. The food felt a bit overpriced for the quality. I would definitely go back for drinks maybe after dinner. Better communication between wait staff would be much appreciated bc they cleared our table after we asked them not too, which led to our water bottles and $20 worth of chocolates being thrown away. :-(

I booked a birthday dinner with my family.. we arrived and discover that the kitchen is under renovation, so practically there is almost no food (few cold plates offered). It kind of ruined the entire celebration. Not great. Place is beautiful, but both Gallow Green & Open Table could have made a better service informing about the situation.

Food menu was limited. We were notified upon walking in at least. Their credit card payment system was mostly down. Bar drinks were limited to their special drinks predominantly.

An extremely disappointing experience at a place that has been a truly lovely rooftop oasis for years. We had a dinner reservation for after seeing Sleep No More, so we headed there directly after the show. Ran into someone we knew outside who said that there was an issue with the kitchen. We went upstairs and checked in, but there was no mention made to us about kitchen issues, so we asked. We were casually told that their menu was adjusted and that we could look at it if we wanted to. The menu turned out to be all cold food: expensive raw seafood (which one of our party was allergic to), potato chips, and salads. A far cry from the usual larger menu that we had anticipated and been relying on, with its burger and cheese curds! (Also the fact that it was a printed menu made it seem like a known issue, although there hadn't been any warning given to reservations who had no reason to expect this.) We weren't willing to buy food we didn't actually want but were already up there, so we said we'd just do drinks... and were told to go over and grab whatever seats were open on the bar side and to take care of ourselves. The bartender was very friendly, but the ambience on that side was horrible, with a couple bare scattered tables in an empty void. There wasn't even a water station. And sadly, the cocktail menu this year is nowhere near as good as it has been in past years. The convenience is lovely, but we'll be going elsewhere in the future.

The atmosphere is lovely however we were told there was no food except 3 choices of salads. The waitress said they were having issues in the kitchen. We were confused because we saw some other tables being served hot food. The cocktails were not good either, strange combination of things that tasted like cough syrup. Very disappointing and felt bad for the server who lost out on making money for a reserved table for dinner.

Somehow the menu was unexpectedly limited. And the nice, more outside area of the space was blocked off for an event - prior information would have been nice.

Very very hot. No fan. Terrible menu. Very few choices. Mediocre food. Had better food at a local diner for 40% less cost. Poor service. Never got all the food we ordered.

The hot kitchen was closed to to some technical failure and the heat. They did well trying to accommodate us with salads and cold food items.
