Nominated for Best New Restaurant and Best Chef in the James Beard Awards, Gado Gado is an Indonesian-focused restaurant in Portland’s Hollywood neighborhood serving an eclectic menu that derives flavors from owners Thomas and Mariah Pisha-Duffly’s cultural heritage, travels, and culinary backgrounds.

In addition to an extensive à la carte food and drink menu, groups are invited to indulge in a bountiful family-style, chef’s choice Rice Table dinner — Gado Gado’s interpretation of the Dutch-Indonesian “Rijsttafel” feast.

Singaporean Chili Crab

Every Sunday and Monday come enjoy our special Singaporean Chili Crab dish. A jumbo Dungeness crab cooked in our sweet chili gravy is served over a bed of rice noodles with sweet rolls cooked in coconut herb butter. This dish is intended to serve 2-3 people and is $125 per dish. A $25 fee will incur for a no-show or a cancellation within 24 hours of your reservation. If you want more than one crab please utilize the add-on option to increase the amount.

Wonderful food, service, and ambiance. We did the Rice Table and it was fantastic. Every dish was delicious and complemented the other food. Gado Gado and Oma’s Hideaway are at the top of our list for celebratory meals. We appreciate the outdoor dining option, allergy menu, and attention to detail.

Excellent food and service. All of the flavors were intricately layered and interesting. I really appreciate the kindness and helpfulness of our server who patiently helped my unenthusiastic teenagers try new things. Thank you!

A delicious and fun evening with friends, with great service! We sampled a variety of items from the menu and each one was unique and tasty! Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was incredible, especially the roti and the squash corn curry. Service was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back.

Loved everything as usual, one of the best places in Portland. One small thing, we got the Singaporean crab and felt like it would help to have kind of a intro on what it is and how to eat it. We've alll had this dish before and the way it's presented is awesome but not intuitive, like, almost a crab bolognese. A little heads up on what it is and how to eat it would be good.
