Friar Tuck’s on the corner of Pine & Commercial Street in Nevada City’s Historic District has been a festive dining and lounge experience since 1973. Friar Tuck’s features a warm, unique atmosphere with friendly staff, an extensive steak, seafood and fondue menu, award winning wine list, classic cocktails and live music 7 nights a week Friar Tuck’s was created in the winter of 1973. It is one of the first wine bars in Northern California and is honored to have received the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for the past 15 years running. Live music, seven nights a week is also a huge part of Friar Tuck’s. Friar Tuck’s is proud to be one of the oldest privately and family owned restaurants in California and now the Paige Family have become the new Proprietors to preserve this landmark tradition in the heart of Nevada City. The fish and chips sat under the heat lamp until it was dried dried dried out and un eatable. My wife’s salmon excellent

Really wanted to like this place but I have to be honest here the food was just awful my prime rib came out practically raw and cold asked to have it reheated was still cold. Couldn't even eat half of it. I called ahead for my wife's birthday to have them deliver a dessert after our entrees that never came huge disappointment wife ordered a side salad with her dinner that never came. Was just all around a terrible experience not trying to be super harsh but definitely won't be back was not worth over a hundred dollars at all. Baked Brie not worth 20 dollars at all.

I ordered a Lemon Drop at the bar and it was superb. Seeing a Scotch Egg on the menu was a surprise so I had to try it and it was perfectly prepared. A real treat! The salmon was the best I’ve had in a very long time. I throughly enjoyed my meal. 👍🏻

The New York strip was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The béarnaise sauce topped it off perfectly. Seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes were delicious. I would highly recommend

Fantastic time celebrating our 23rd Wedding anniversary! Amazing atmosphere, Fantastic food, amazing service! What more can you ask for. Got to meet Ken the owner and what a Fantastic person. Such a great and caring guy. We will definitely be back!

Our meal was delicious. Our server, Kelly, was awesome; she kept us happy but did not overdo it. The only complaint we had was that the steak knife was not very good; though the prime rib was wonderful.
