At the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford, Fresco at the Gardens serves artisanal breakfast and lunch to match its beautiful surroundings. For breakfast, which can be enjoyed anytime Fresco at the Gardens is open, savory options like the biscuits and gravy made with challah rolls topped with organic pork sausage, chorizo and herbs and the whimsical green eggs and ham with homemade pesto sauce and local asiago cheese, are irresistible. Sweet breakfast choices include the healthy start waffles with Fresco granola and topped with vanilla Greek yogurt and berries and the rock candy French toast, rolled in cinnamon rock sugar, both of which are ideal with a fresh-pressed strawberry orange juice.

Bar service was very slow. Came after the meal was served. Server had too many tables. She tried, but we had to wait for her for everything. Couldn't get our check for a long time.

We found Fresco is a great place to grab a bite to eat between walking the beautiful Japanese gardens. Our visit last Friday was terrific. Wonderful recommendations and service from Jasmine. The food and Sangria's tastefully simple and delicious.

I eat gluten free and appreciate that they have several options that are gluten free, but I miss the fish tacos they used to have.

This was my first visit, but my wife has been there with friends several times. The ambiance and view are wonderful. The food quality is good as we both enjoyed our selections. The issue was the service. The wait for the initial contact by our server, while not long enough to cause us to consider leaving, was definitely longer than expected. Then our server, while knowledgeable, was surly and definitely lacking in table side manner. I was willing to assume he was just having a bad day, but my wife said he is always like that. It definitely detracted from the experience.

Great food and excellent service. Delightful patio seating for lunch with friends. We will come again without hesitation.

Amazing experience overall. Jaime was our server who was very attentive and made our first time at Al Fresco memorable. Food is full flavor and in smaller portions.

It was wonderful afternoon. We sat at a window table and the view was beautiful. The food was delicious. We had a hard time deciding what to eat, it all sounded so good. We will definitely come back to try another dish!

The food a service was exceptional. The ambience lovely but it was very loud and hard to converse with the server or company. But all in all a wonderful experience.

Our restaurant experience was very good. The only problem was they did not have our reservation. Luckily, they could find a table for us.
