This is a hotel restaurant and as such it is overpriced, but I figured on that going in. The restaurant is in the main lobby of the hotel and was reasonably quiet. The chairs / banquettes are comfortable and the lighting is on the darker side without being murky. The food at Frenchy is salty - I like salt - but this was too much. The gnocchi suffered the most from this. The vegetables in the dish were not bad but the gnocchi itself was pretty inedible. The steak frites was fine - a ribeye so it had flavour - cut down to the advertised portion size so it looked a bit funny. The tatin profiteroles tasted like nothing I have experienced before. Burnt (that was the generously heaped caramel sauce) and chemically tasting, so I would avoid that one. The service was good. The restaurant was not busy, so the staff had plenty of time to check up on us - including the ceremonial "choose your weapon" where you get to pick your steak knife from a box. I swear I will never understand restaurants and their need to have steak knives. If the steak requires that kind of knife to cut it, it is not worth eating. If you are stuck on a Sunday in the Financial District with no where to go, with money to burn and you want a quiet place to eat and have a conversation, Frenchy's is fine.

Frenchy's wasa very elegant setting. Our server, George, was gracious and attentive. The mussels were amazing! All in all, a great night out!

Frenchy is in the lobby of the Hilton. Food was excellent. Service could have been better. Was there for two breakfasts and there was no problem but dinner service was very slow even though it was not crowded. Our waitress seemed to keep forgetting things, said she would get something or come back to take away dishes and then not come back.

I’ve now had meals here four maybe five times and it’s great. They are making a real effort and it pays off when we leave fed well, in a reasonable time. I eat gluten free (celaic) and they have always been exceptionally accommodating and I’ve never had a bad outcome. Enjoy!
