We were a group of six with a reservation. We come to this restaurant before attending the ballet at the nearby theatre. The ballet has an agreement with the Hilton, home of the restaurant, to encourage patrons of the ballet eat at the restaurant. Recently reopened following a lengthy renovation the restaurant is beautiful, comfortable and the food is excellent. On our recent visit, however, it was clear that there were insufficient staff to serve diners, especially with a significant number attending the ballet at the same time. We greatly appreciated the efforts made by staff to ensure that we reached the ballet in time. We hope that in the future more adequate staffing is available.

It took staff 30 min to help us after immediately seating us. Even after I asked for help 20 min in, it took my boyfriend asking 30 min in for a waiter to take our order. Once we received our food, they gave us a garlic bread and comp’d our drinks. But it was a birthday celebration and there was no time left to order cake or we would have missed our next show plans after the dinner. For French food, which is usually rich in flavour, the food was mediocre. But quite pricey. I will never return. I had to apologize to my boyfriend for spoiling his birthday with choosing that restaurant

An outstanding restaurant in the Hilton Hotel in downtown Toronto. From the greeting of the hostess to the warm service offered by George our server to the food - all went beyond our expectations. Service was efficient but did not give the feeling of being rushed to ensure we were comfortably on time for the ballet we were attending just across the street. It is off the main lobby so could be noisy (the initial noise when we first arrived quickly died down), however the hostess did seat people in the area which was more remote from the lobby which did help. The only other improvement could be the seating. Cushions were provided to help, but found the banquette positioned well back from the table and the tub chairs although they looked comfortable to sit did not position those of us of short stature as comfortably for eating. However, this is definitely on my list for a return visit. Many more menu items to try out!

Slow service, very overcooked and overpriced steak. They said they would replace the steak before we had to leave but weren’t able to get another cooked within the 30 minutes we had left. Ended up chugging my wine and scarfing down most of what was supposed to be a $50 steak. I would avoid this place.

Third time dining here. First was within the first month of their opening and it didn't go well. Gave it a second chance 4-6 weeks ago and it was very good, but it seems that consistency is not yet there. Last night service was competent but not exceptional as it was last visit. The food however missed the mark. The escargot should not have been served as the as they were too small to be considered food grade. The Coquilles St. Jacques and the Fritto Misto were fine but not at all remarkable. We had the Gnocchi on our last visit and it was a highlight, but last night it was dry and salty. The Beef Bourguignon was better but largely pasta with a scant amount of beef-though what was presented was quite tasty. We did not have dessert as the server took too long to take our order and we were on a schedule. So overall disappointing and pricey-over $600 for 3 people without desserts. Not likely to return.

The new look and style of the restaurant is very good. Service and our dinner were both very good. Only criticism would be the music - the live guitar player was average and the sound quality poor. A piano player playing a selection of Parisian Cafe songs would have been much better , and a better background music for the hustle and bustle of the lobby, bar and restaurant area.
