Gravissez les marches des escaliers pour entrer dans le salon où vous serez accueilli dans une salle qui est à la fois spacieuse, ouverte et décousue de sens. D’un côté vous pourrez admirer un mur de fenêtres, de l'autre côté vous pourrez découvrir un splendide bar en zinc; en contrepoint du bar jumeau en dessous qui est parfaitement proportionné, et propose une belle intimité. À la fin des années 1800 et au début des années 1900, le style du saloon français emprunte la décadence et la familiarité du bar parisien, tout en trouvant un terrain d'entente avec la société bruyante et un sentiment d’espièglerie. Vous pourrez commencer la soirée avec du champagne et du caviar au bar, pour ensuite progresser vers un steak tartare et des bouteilles de Bourgogne. Cet établissement dispose de différentes annotations pour différents client : un lieu de restauration pour certains, un bar proposant des cocktails et des collations pour les autres – mais en premier lieu, il demeure un très bon lieu de divertissement.

The ultimate British restaurant takes up residence at French Saloon this March. Farokh Talati - head chef from St John, joins Luke Fraser and the French Saloon team, to present a set four-course menu each service, with the offer of plenty of extras for anyone who, in true St John style, would like to give things a nudge. Trevor has also shipped over plenty of Boulevard Napoleon, the wine he has been making in the Minervois in the south of France since 2008, the perfect supplement to the Saloon’s own cellar. The four-course menu is $135 per person with all beverages and extras charged in addition.

Overall lovely experience at French Saloon. The front of house staff were lovely and very accommodating on the night! The food was also wonderful with the tartare and kingfish being standout dishes. Thanks for a wonderful experience team!

Generally a very pleasant four-star experience, with attentive waiters, an efficient kitchen, and delicious food. It was soured however, at the end of the evening, when presented with the bill with options of 10%, 15% and 20% gratuity. I had intended to tip [a different amount] but, when it was an expectation that I tip at specific levels, I abandoned my plans to tip. I was vindicated when the receipt arrived incorporating a credit card surcharge, avaricious when one considers that the meals and beverages were at a level that would comfortably absorb this minor cost of doing business.

Booked this for our Lunar New Year eve dinner. Very glad that we were given a table by the window as requested. The food was excellent! The server was attentive and provided good service. The place is quaint and nice. This restaurant is our favourite and my go to for a good meal. Keep it up!

We had a fabulous night celebrating my daughters uni graduation. Staff were so accommodating and we were able to relax and enjoy afternoon drinks outside before having dining inside. Food was excellent and wine list fantastic. Faultless experience. Can’t wait to come back!

You reach the restaurant by climbing a stairway to the first floor, where we were seated next to a window overlooking the lively lane-way below. The restaurant not only occupies this engaging location but was convivial without being over-noisy, while the food, wine, and service were all first class.
