French Quarter Bistro was opened in 2018 in the heart of Frenchtown by Ed and Amoi Foerstel due to their love of all cuisine, Cajun.

Creole is derived from the many cultures who have settled in New Orleans, including; French, Spanish, West African, Caribbean, German, Italian, and Irish. Cajun is derived from the French-speaking Acadians who settled in the bayous south of New Orleans. The influences of the French are the most prominent of both cuisines. Almost all of our Creole and Cajun dishes begin with a stock (poultry, beef, or seafood), trinity (onions, green bell peppers, celery), and a roux (blonde, brown, or dark), lending a unique flavor to our Gumbo and other dishes.

We invite you to come to taste our cuisine at French Quarter Bistro. We are not re-inventing Creole and Cajun cuisine, only sharpening it!

Always excellent New Orleans style food and great service. Tried something completely different (and new for me) on this visit: the Shrimp & Crawfish Etoufee, and it did NOT disappoint! SO DELICIOUS! Wrapped up the meal with warm biegnets for dessert. Yum!!

The fish was fresh and well prepared. Other favorites were the gumbo and the beet salad. It was very busy but our waitress was very efficient. We will be back.

Excellent dinner and service. First time here, but we will be back. We were here on Jan. 23, 2025. My husband had the pork chop and it was very thick and cooked perfectly I enjoyed a filet of snapper, again delicious. I started with a cup of gumbo, and shared a beet salad. My husband had the french onion soup. All were wonderful. We chose beignets which were better than the ones in New Orleans served fresh, hot and covered with powdered sugar. They have an extensive wine list and a full bar. A very hospitable owner and servers. Highly recommended. Also good for small or large groups, children friendly.

Food was mediocre at best . Salad and appetizer below par , steak entree just ok . The waitress was nice and the French onion soup was good . Can’t imagine we will go back anytime soon .

In the Frenchtown area and parking can be tough. Get an early reservation so you can park in their limited parking lot. The food was good but the Eggplant Parmesan had a lot of extra cooking oil in it. I would give it another shot as there were other menu items that were interesting.
