I don’t usually leave bad reviews but this was particularly poor. The food was good, but the service was AWFUL. They were busy, but my food was taken when it wasn’t even close to finished when I went to the bathroom, we had to wait ages for plates or for our orders to be taken. There were more things they messed up, but those were the main. Disappointing

Hi Luisa, It's with a great deal of disappointment that you feel as though you need to leave a review for our restaurant in this way. Our staff accommodated your needs in every way, going above and beyond for your requests. We accommodated your want to increase your booking size on a fully booked night by going out of our way to make that happen. We had our regular guests next to your table who were made to tolerate your increasingly loud and disruptive behaviour as well as being made to feel rushed out as you continuously made requests to use their table. This resulted in not only them finishing their night early but also our restaurant having to compensate them. It is to our credit that reviews such as this are not a true reflection of our wonderful staff. Freda's Bistro

Fantastic food and service as usual. The Feed Me menu is always great value and the staff are delightful. Would recommend for a relaxed but special occasion. An oasis in the hustle and bustle of Brunswick St.

Absolutely delicious flavours of food here. We shared many dishes between our table so we could sample many of the different offerings. The steak tartare was the best we have ever tasted many of us agreed. Very reasonably priced and great service in a nice cosy atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our night out with friends. Freda’s had a friendly, buzzy vibe and we settled in for an enjoyable night. The service was wonderful. The waitress certainly made us feel welcome. There was an unexpected bonus ‘Steak Night’ … plenty of other alternatives if steak not your thing. Our party all ordered steak and a variety of sides. Those in the party who could fit in desert were very happy with their choice. We will be certainly returning to sample the rest of the menu.

Fantastic restaurant - my favourite in Melbourne. The food is always perfect, and blends classic European with modern Australian flavours really well. The ambience is delightful and the team are super friendly and welcoming. 10/10!

Excellent service. Entrees were excellent. My steak was a little overdone, but it was such a nice piece of striploin that I didn’t care. We have been to Freda’s previously and will go again.

Food was incredible. We had the feed me for 4 people & everything was amazing! Could not fault a thing. We added the anchovy toasts which were spot on! We will definitely be back. Top 5 meal I’ve ever had.

Found this restaurant on a list for Mother’s Day events. It was worth it. Had a beautiful lunch. And I think it was an overall success. Food was high quality and there was plenty of it as we had a set menu. Looking forward to visiting again and choosing from their regular menu as the flavours weee amazing.
