Food is hit and miss. Had a nice trout tartare dish but a mackerel dish was surprisingly bland and served on burnt soda bread (this was mentioned to the staff) and an aubergine dish tasted too sweet and had a strange taste. It’s good to be able to BYO wine plus the staff are welcoming and friendly but I won’t rush back for the food.

Frank's hasn't let me down yet! Delicious, inventive sharing plates every time, and the BYOB with no corkage on Wednesday and Thursday is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Food was very good and elaborated, but there are limited vegetarian options. Service was a bit slow but very friendly. It is a simple and relaxed environment and perfectly to visit after our climbing. They offer 500ml wine which is just the perfect amount.

Perfect lunch time stop off on a rainy Monday afternoon! Food cooked with soul, this place is amazing! The food, the staff, the atmosphere. Highly recommended. Best lunch in Islington by a long shot! Enjoy.

We had a lovely meal for 2 on a Thursday night. Excellent choice of fish dishes and lovely salads and veg. Franks was full ( we were the last table in at 8.30) and yet the noise was very moderate, no shouting at each other and such a delight after some local restaurants where the noise levels are difficult to tolerate.
