Premier Steakhouse located in the heart of Downtown Salem! All of our steaks are Certified Angus Beef broiled with intense heat, seasoned with kosher salt, cracked pepper, and finished with clarified butter. A variety of seafood appetizers and entrees, family style sides, and our signature pineapple martini. Make sure to start with one of our delicious salads and finish with our famous bread pudding for dessert. Everything is made from scratch in house by our Executive Chef. Large bar and lounge area, main dining room, and 2 private event spaces.

Jack, or waiter, was extremely friendly and a terrific waiter. Took his recommendation and had an absolute wonderful meal!

Service and ambiance were excellent. The quality of the steaks was excellent but all three were overly salted. Sides of potatoes, spinach were excellent.

We’ve always loved Frankie’s, but were underwhelmed by the service and quality of food at the Salem location. Steak ordered medium rare was charred to the point of being inedible and had to ask for a steak knife to cut the meat. The table bread wasn’t fresh and filled with crust only. Too bad, great venue and drinks.

Food and Service was Amazing. Our server Sam was very professional and polite. They made us feel welcome as we celebrated my mom's Birthday. Wasn't a fan of the Pineapple Martini.

Frankie’s is always the go to for any special occasions with the wife or family. The food is always amazing and you get a great atmosphere to enjoy time with your loved ones. The service is always an A+.

Last night was our first visit to the Salem location for Frankie Rowlands and we will be back. The entire staff was fabulous, attentive and yet not interrupting a nice birthday dinner date with my wife. The food was prepared flawlessly and seasoned just right. With note, while I expected my steak, a Cowboy Rib Eye, to be cooked perfectly I was blown away at how well the various seafood appetizers were prepared. Some of the best scallops we have ever had and the cream sauce was as heavenly as our server said it would be. My wife and I recommend this restaurant as the best in the Roanoke Valley and SWVA.

We just moved to the Roanoke/Salem area and wanted a really nice place for our 48th anniversary. We heard some good things about the Salem location and decided to give them a try. The service and attentiveness by every member of the wait staff was A+, while the food was mostly overall a B. My wife had the 7 oz. filet and I had the 10 oz. Hers was thin and wide, while mine was thicker and better proportioned. Both were cooked properly, but not particularly flavorful. I chose the Bearnaise sauce for mine, which was nicely done. We were advised to share the sides, which was excellent advice. Probably the biggest disappointment of the evening was the Bananas Foster, which the menu said was prepared at the table. Technically, it was, but not as you'd expect. Instead, it arrived with some already prepared bananas in the dish, while the "tableside preparation" was our server adding ice cream and a sauce which did add an appropriate flavor to the dish. We don't have a feel yet for prices in the area, so assessing value is difficult. All said, while the experience left room for improvement, we will be back some time in the future. Just not right away. And we'll be looking for a "Go-to" spot still for a nice dinner out.

Delicious food, very attentive staff, great atmosphere and not noisy. You could actually talk to one another in a normal voice. We both had ribeye steaks that were prepared perfectly. Based on previous reviews, we ordered the brussels sprouts and they were great. It was our wedding anniversary, and we felt like we were spoiled by the entire restaurant staff. Not sure if this is normal, since it was our first time. We will definitely be returning.

We returned to FR Salem for an enjoyable experience. FR has the most comprehensive and highest quality wine list in the area. We selected a California Petite Sirah from Vina Robles. FR clearly lists the year for each selection. Wines are appropriately aged. Highly recommend the onion rings but recognize the serving is quite large. The filets were correctly prepared but over seasoned with salt. This is the only negative from our experience--too much seasoning on the filets. Chase's service was outstanding. We will continue to dine at FR Salem.
