Mia Francesca features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio. It was one of the first restaurants in Chicago to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, simple, rustic cooking, friendly service, and fair prices.

Waiting for a table at the beautiful antique bar is part of the charm of Mia Francesca. The plush upstairs dining room and lounge can be reserved for private events, as can the more intimate coach house tucked away behind the restaurant. In the summer, al fresco dining is also available on a charming cobblestone terrace.

Delicious dinner -- wonderful execution. Pastas and salmon were cooked perfectly. Everything was tasty.

Fantastic drinks, food and service at this convenient location on the corner of Lincoln & Touhy! Don’t miss the access from the parking garage directly into the restaurant…no need to go out in the rain or snow from your parking spot! Try the focaccia… thin, crispy, full of creamy cheese and topped with spreadable honey… YUM! The filet special and white fish were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Kaitlyn & Cindy’s service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Decor is trendy and has a fun vibe with 1/2 an old Fiat sticking out of the wall. Lively atmosphere without being obnoxiously loud. Give it a try!

Our first visit to the restaurant. Food and service were top notch! Just a touch and the noisy side, but the main dining room is very large and the place was packed since it was a Saturday night. We’ll definitely be going back.

Plusses: A terrific location, attached parking garage, a very nice limoncello-based cocktail, an attentive and sweet staff, yummy bread and very enthusiastic birthday song. Unfortunately these assets didn’t totally make up for a mediocre beet salad, which needed some goat cheese or a stronger dressing, in my opinion, and a bland rigatoni with vodka sauce. I noticed that our dining partner left a half his pasta dish too. That said, this was our first visit so we’ll probably try it again.

The noise level was so high that we had to shout at each other and the waiter could hardly hear us. The service was very slow. My pasta dish with bolognese sauce was so spicy that I had to send it back as well as the penne being too al dente and chewy. The parking situation was horrendous. I would definitely not return

I was really excited about Francescas as I've been to other locations in the past. Not sure if it was a fluke thing, but I thought EVERYTHING I had was SO salty. Like almost inedible. Our waiter was nice and did a good job checking in on us. The restaurant is lovely in general, I just found the food very disappointing.

Went for lunch during the week, which is apparently new. The website hasn't even been updated to reflect that it's open. The staff was very accommodating, the food was very good and the service good. The room is beautiful. I am sure it is really beautiful and warm in the evening. I wish there were more lunch items on the menu, though. Good experience overall.

Well, this isn't the same ambiance as the well known Mia Francesca's of many years past. This has definitely become a "chain" restaurant at twice the cost of what Mia Francesca's used to be (Bryn Mawr, for example). Service is slow and you have to ask for every thing. We weren't given the warm bread, signature olive oil and spices, and parmesan cheese, until we asked for all that. No salt and pepper either until we asked. Food was good and was hot -- seemed to needed to be salted -- several dishes didn't have much flavor until salted. Table of 4 came to $400.00 including tip and cocktails. I never remember spending that much on a casual Mia Francesca's dinner at Clark Street or Bryn Mawr. Overall, it's good. There are PLENTY of other excellent family driven Italian restaurants close by that I would rather go to and receive great service and known quality food.
