Beautifully crafted space, hand drawn menu, and ambiance. The a-choy salad, squab, and green beans were my favorite. Finished with the pluot jam douhua for dessert, really nostalgic!

Four Kings serves some of the most innovative cuisine in SF while maintaining its roots in traditional Chinese and some Japanese traditions. It’s super fun to mix and match dishes. The staff is wonderful, and the wines and sakes pair well with the food. Overall, I really like this creative izakaya-like menu offered in a cozy spot in Chinatown.

Great food and people. We love the ambiance. The mouthwatering tomato is probably the favorite//the cherry on top. Mapo spaghetti was a hit, the steamed rockfish a favorite, and the desserts are as they should be ! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!!

I had such a great time! The staff were so kind and attentive and the food was delicious! The chow fun, soft crab special, lamb skewers and clay pot rice were so tasty. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to dine there again.

As someone that grew up eating Cantonese food, Four kings was quite a disappointment. Everything was too salty and/or oily and I found myself craving some white rice with every dish. Perhaps they are catering to non-Asians because everything is so flavorful and not balanced. There was not much innovation or creativity in terms of flavor profiles. I did enjoy the complimentary peanuts and the eggplant which was cooked perfectly, not too mushy. The ambience was also pretty good. I enjoyed their playlist with classic Cantonese songs and the walls filled with posters of singers from the older generation.

Overall the food was underwhelming. Lacked flavor. We ordered the beef chow fun, the clay pot rice, the squab, scargo and the egg plant. Out of all the dishes the eggplant was surprisingly the best dish. Food was very oily over all. The restaurant was very loud and smoky from the kitchen. Definitely not worth the one month res.
