Our server was very attentive and was very helpful. We had our drinks and appetizers earlier than expected. Her recommendations were spot on. My food was excellent. My wife ordered a burger medium well, but it was more like medium rare and was much pinker than she hoped for and she only ate less than half of it. Hopefully, next time we go, the burgers will be cooked longer. Thanks

Very disappointing. For all the staff we had stop by and introduce themselves, we waited a lot, a lot. My signature cumin lamb was devoid of cumin and most any flavor of note. The included lamb slices were thin and minimal. The burger and THREE onion rings (barely worth the plural) was good. Server was able to note it was to be shared so the burger was cut in half which were impressed with. But, staying on form, the burger arrived on a single plate. When asked for another plate a small bread plate was provided. Good thing there weren’t too many onion rings to overcrowd the tiny plate. The icing on the cake (pie in our case) was waiting over 25 minutes for dessert pie. Miraculously, it showed quickly after asking the order to be cancelled and for the bill. The pie was taken off the bill and while tasty the overall experience was terrible value for both time and money.

We picked this location as we were going to an event at the Capital One Center. Our server was prompt and friendly. We never felt we were going to miss our event. The restaurant was clean and easy to move around. I always like eating at Founding Fathers.

The food was good but as a gluten-free eater nothing was indicated on the menu as an option. Customers have to ask the server for any/all possible choices when a simple GF or “GF possible” printed next to menu items would go a long way in showing options. Our server was great at finding out options but on a busy day, it took several “I’m not sure, I’ll have to check” iterations before an order could be finalized. Unrelated, the restaurant was very loud with several large groups. Even though there were lots of open tables, we were seated in between the large groups making it difficult to hold a conversation.

Our server Christian was very personable & took his time to explain the menu, the distillery options, the bakery, and the specials. Our drinks & appetizers were good and came out quickly. Our entrees weren't as successful. After about a 40 min wait , 2 of our orders arrived. 1 was correct, 1 was incorrect. I was still waiting for my spaghetti squash when a manager arrived to say he wasn't sure what had happened but that option wasn't even available and what would I like to order. We were due to see a show so by that time, it was too late to order something else. He also acknowledged that the other order was incorrect but again, too late to replace so we made do. The wolf-fish special was absolutely delicious so no complaints there. The manager was very apologetic and took the missing entree, the incorrect entree and our 2 appetizers off the bill. These things happen and the best thing to do is just make it right. I'd definitely try the place again because the menu does have many great offerings.

We always stop at Founding Farmers when we hit DC. First time in Chinatown. Tried riblets/ book coy/rice only available there - outstanding. Returned for lunch next day - wonderful spaghetti squash marinara and we shared chocolate cake. Always delicious food from appetizers to desserts - how do they do that.

We ordered the salmon the portions were small for the $35 price and the flavors of the salmon and the side dishes just weren’t impressive. Will not be going back.
