While our menu will change over with each passing season, we also continue to source the freshest ingredients from local farms to help inspire daily specials. Our goal is to give you the best tasting dishes, the easiest way to do that is to start with what’s in season.
Nose to Tail, Root to Leaf
We believe every part of the plant and animal can and should be used in the process making food. Whether it’s used as a component in making stocks/sauces, as the main ingredient of the dish, or as a garnish, our goal is to use 100% of the entire plant/animal we purchase. The goal is less waste and responsible consumerism.
Return to Cooking
With our wood fired oven and wood fired grill we are returning to the origins of cooking: cooking over fire. Here at Foster, we combine fresh ingredients, classic technique, and an open flame to serve you a meal that’s simply elegant.

The food is very good and service is friendly and efficient. It’s our second time dining and everything we had is delicious. A great neighborhood find in Sea Cliff.

Rich is a dynamite manager, Erica a fab waitress, Javier a super nice staff member, John - a magician bartender. Oh by the way - food is terrific!

The food is VERY delicious. Service, A. Cocktails delicious, but small… Inside dinning can get a bit loud, but their enclosed terrace is quite nice and not noisy at all. Pricey.

I love Foster’s and think their food is delicious. The weight staff is knowledgeable and friendly. For some reason, it was an off night. Everything came out very slowly, beginning with the drinks and continuing through our appetizers and entrées. Also, when things did come out, they weren’t served all at one time so as an example, 3 of us had our entrées and it was about another 10 minutes before the final entrée came out. No explanation was given. If this had been my first experience at the restaurant, it might be my last, but because I know that this is not typical, I will go back again. The food is delicious, and eating at Foster’s is generally an experience I look forward to.

Our disappointing experience at Foster in Sea Cliff began with the hostess who refused to seat us at one of 6 open tables for four people because we were only two. The restaurant was empty. It was a Monday night. Our reseervation was for 6:30. She seated us at a small table for two in the middle of an empty room. Not one of those empty tables had been used and were still empty when we left at 8 pm. Our server Erika was great. She explained things, offered suggestions and was attentive. The food was just okay, but should have been better based on the cuisine concepts and the pricing. Neither one of us finished our food --linguini and shrip and shrimp and grits and the server noticed and informed the manager who came to us to see if there wes anything she could do. The meal was done by that time, but she comped one of our dinners to make it up to us. We did not ask for that or anything. She did the right thing. But based on our experience, the okay food, and the number of restaurants in our area, it is unlikely will be return to Foster.
