Horsforth-born Matt Healy, known from MasterChef: The Professionals, has come home to Horsforth!

Matt’s ‘food to swear by’ brand has made a real impact on the Leeds dining scene, earning him a 2024 Michelin Plate for the 3rd consecutive year and a mention in The Good Food Guide. His focus on modern British cooking has won over both diners and critics alike.

MasterChef judge Marcus Wareing praised Matt’s sauces as “some of the best he had ever tasted,” while Jay Rayner’s Guardian review simply said, “Bloody hell, that’s good”—though not quite in those exact words.

With experience working alongside some of the best in the industry, Matt’s bringing together a talented team to deliver excellent food and service right here in Horsforth.

                                    Sunday roast was fantastic. Yorkshire pudding a little disappointing but the rest very tasty. Creme brulee was outrageously good. No zero alcohol options that we could see on the menu will definitely return

                                    Fantastic food - it’s small plates which were great for getting several and sharing - soy salmon, truffle potatoes, poached pears were all delicious to name a few. Tho to be fair it feels mean to leave out the roasted cod, chicken and the amazing boards!!! Relaxed informal atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

                                    Went along for lunch with two friends - our unanimous feeling was that both the service and the food was outstanding! The food was super tasty, really fresh, and great portion sizes. Overall, an amazing lunch experience and we would definitely return.

                                    Great service, great atmosphere, great food and the wine list was solid. I get the feeling the restaurant was suffering a bit from the sheer popularity of the steak dish, which was taking a while to come. I think everyone dining had ordered it, so it took long enough to reach us that it gave us a chance to realise we'd over-stuffed ourselves and we cancelled it. Try to get it out quicker and make us suffer! (in a good way of course). That's not even a complaint though. Everything was really lovely and we'd go back in a heartbeat...maybe Sunday lunch next time!

                                    The Forde has fast become one of my top restaurants in Leeds. The food is the perfect combination of delicious made with great produce without the high prices. The portions are more than adequate too. I never leave this place unhappy!
