Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Courtyard is great and the server as well. Had the meatballs and chicken parm - very tasty! My guests enjoyed their food as well.

Great experience. Second time eating at Forcella while on business trips, and both experiences were memorable. Amazing food, great service, and owners who go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Gotta try the basil pesto spaghetti with chicken…wow! The bolognese is a classic. Im sure anything you order will be cooked perfectly and delicious. Highly recommend Forcella.

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars BUT the young guy who was supposedly the manager was incredibly rude and disrespectful! Our waiter was amazing, informative and absolutely top notch but when dealing with the manager after misinformation about their parking validation we were treated so poorly! I have never had anyone be so disrespectful. For this reason I will never return to Forcella despite an excellent start to the night. This manager should NOT be in the service industry!

We were excited to try the restaurant as we had seen many positive reviews. The place is tiny and feels cramped. It is also extremely noisy. The back patio looked lovely but there were no heat lamps available and the evening was chilly for September so we elected to sit inside. The food was delivered promptly after ordering and service was attentive. Arugula salads were nothing special. Chef agreed to make a special pasta with red sauce, basil and lobster for my husband who is a vegan pescatarian. The sauce tasted like canned tomato soup. I ordered the eggplant lasagna which was heavy on the cheese but tasted quite good. Bread was so so and there are no dessert offerings. All in all the experience was lackluster.

We stumbled upon this and were able to make a reservation. I’m so glad we did. The chicken parm was the best thing we have ever had - melt in your mouth good. The bolognese was also amazing. Our waiter, Ralph was the best. Highly recommend.

I had 13 co-workers visiting Boston from all over the US, UK and South Africa, and wanted to give them a great experience. Having been to Forcella several times before, I knew this was the place to take them. Not only were they able to accommodate our large group on the beautiful patio, but they were extremely responsive and friendly in making the arrangements. Once we got there, we were sat right on time, and everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was as good as it gets. We were even entertained with traditional Italian songs being played by a violinist. My guests were all thoroughly impressed and still talking about it today. I highly recommend making Forcella a stop on your next visit to the North End.

The food was excellent! From the hostess to our server, the service was attentive and caring. We asked for recommendations, and our server said any dish with meat sauce. We ordered the papadelle and basil pesto dishes. The papadelle was phenomenal! Highly recommend. Overall, great dining experience and an intimate setting for a date spot in the north end!
