Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

We had a fantastic experience here. Seriously the lasagna was the best I have ever had in my life. We also had chicken parmigiana which was amazing. Brined ahead of time, tender, and a delicious sauce. Our server Ralph was a pro, and extremely understanding when our daughter spilled her drink, oops! His recommendations were on point, wine was perfect. Cozy environment with fast service, which is the right balance of making you feel comfortable yet not overbearing. We had an early evening, but definitely a place that would certainly accommodate a long evening with friends. We loved everything! Ralph sent us to Cafe Paradiso for after dinner drinks and dessert which ended the night perfectly. Thank you!

Sat on the patio, it's so charming out there - sandwiched between apartment buildings and the Paul Revere House. It's well-lit, has outdoor lights, and in the chilly months, heat lamps. I got a glass of Lambrusco (so delicious) and we split the pappardelle in bolognese and the duck, both were so delicious. Will definitely come back, my new favorite neighborhood spot.

Courtyard is great and the server as well. Had the meatballs and chicken parm - very tasty! My guests enjoyed their food as well.

Great experience. Second time eating at Forcella while on business trips, and both experiences were memorable. Amazing food, great service, and owners who go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Gotta try the basil pesto spaghetti with chicken…wow! The bolognese is a classic. Im sure anything you order will be cooked perfectly and delicious. Highly recommend Forcella.

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars BUT the young guy who was supposedly the manager was incredibly rude and disrespectful! Our waiter was amazing, informative and absolutely top notch but when dealing with the manager after misinformation about their parking validation we were treated so poorly! I have never had anyone be so disrespectful. For this reason I will never return to Forcella despite an excellent start to the night. This manager should NOT be in the service industry!
