At Forbidden Root, we value the way great beer creates pleasure. We also love how beer builds community, whether we're sitting sitting at the table with family or with newfound friends in a community environment. Through both our beers and brewpubs we envelop our guests in a rich multisensory experience through the textures, flavors, and visual sparkle of our beer, food, and environment.
Located in The Yard at Easton, we feature creative cuisine from Executive Chef Paul Yow and imaginative brews from Masterbrewer Nick Gabriel. Join us for one of Paul's signature dishes, The Duck & Dumplings, or perhaps a crowd favorite Strawberry Basil Hefewleizen, in our warm and open atmosphere.

    For the reservation to be right when they opened, the table was dirty, our server stated they didn’t have any other juice besides orange juice for our mimosas (as I was allergic) even though there were other juices mentioned on the menu, and the shrimp and grits were too garlicky.

    The food is not very good. The service isn’t spectacular. In comparison to other restaurants in the area it would be my first or last choice.

    We enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the Lasagne dip for stater and then the double smashburger for entry. We got a Caesar salad side instead of the fries. The dip is fantastic. The Burger was good but the sauce on it was a little spicy for me. Overall a nice place with unique menu items.

    Great place. Super friendly server. Food was awesome. Duck and dumplings to die for. IPAs on draft were well balanced and tasty. The guest handles were good too.

    The server went out of her way to make recommendations for both beer and entrees. The beers were unique. The duck and dumplings were fabulous.

    Delicious food. Our server was a gem and his recommendations were perfect. Highly recommend the duck & dumplings! We will definitely return.

    We went for Restaurant Week July 2024 and will definitely be back. Everything was excellent and the regular menu looked great. My husband and son really enjoyed the beer flights too.
