Le Forage est un bistro de quartier à West Cambridge, juste à côté de Harvard Square. Grâce à des partenariats avec les agriculteurs et pêcheurs locaux, le restaurant propose un menu unique, local et de saison, axé sur les ingrédients, un menu provocateur mais en même temps accessible et sain. Le bar au Forage sert des cocktails préparés à la manière classique, qui se concentrent sur des ingrédients locaux et saisonniers. Le Forage dispose également d'une sélection soigneuse de vins blancs, rouges et mousseux, tous organiques ou biodynamiques, et d'une sélection de bières provenant de brasseries indépendantes et innovantes. À la barre du Forage se trouve le propriétaire et directeur général Stan Hilbert, le chef Eric Cooper et le gérant du bar Joe Choiniere. Le trio a travaillé ensemble pendant sept ans au Ten Tables à Jamaica Plain.

    Every Tuesday treat yourself to a special dinner created by the dynamic wine-loving duo behind the goings-on at Forage, chef Eric Cooper and wine guru Stan Hilbert. Each week they select four wines from some of their favorite non-interventionist winemakers and pair them with a super seasonal four-course spread which you can enjoy on-site, indoors or outdoors. There is an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan option for the menu. The $120 cost is for the Food and Wine and does not include Taxes, Gratuity or add-ons, like cheese or more wine!

    Join us for our annual Mushroom dinner and meet local forager and friend Tyler Akabane. We're featuring a 4 course menu paired with natural wines which you can enjoy on-site, indoors or outdoors. There is an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan option for the menu. The $135 cost is for the Food and Wine and does not include Taxes, Gratuity or add-ons, like cheese or more wine! Please note we will not be offering our a la carte menu this Tuesday, the mushroom dinner will be the only option.

    Our party did the omnivore tasting menu & the vegan. Both $80 which I think is a rip off, steak for example costs more than a mushroom and peppers. The vegan had better flavors in my opinion, some flavors from the omnivore menu just didn’t work. I would say overall everything was fine. But for $80 and tiny portions (5 courses total) I’d say that’s a poor deal. If the food was amazing maybe that would be a different story. Spend your money elsewhere! Service was slow, 5 tiny courses took over 2.5 hours so I left feeling like I never even ate. The staff were nice

    Cozy and delish! We came for the vegan tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The servers were wonderful and we loved the food and wine pairing’s descriptions. It’s an intimate place, which reminded us of being in Paris, so don’t expect to have a super private conversation. We enjoyed a little chit chat with the guests next to us:)

    Still AWESOME every time. The staff goes above and beyond and the cooking is… wow. Great showmanship and innovation with unusual combinations of ingredients. Every component is treated with perfection. Chef is always super nice, clearly intensely thoughtful. We had coffee roasted beets - sounds odd, was AMAZING and I often don’t enjoy beets. My husband felt the caldo verde was “amazing” - multiple textures, none of them overcooked, seasoning was on point. I’ve left feedback for forage a few times over the years.,but it’s been a while and I can honestly say: if anything, it’s gotten better. My favorite restaurant in Cambridge. They’re friendly to all diets, including vegan, and the exquisite attention to detail on the food (and so many very special locally farmed, foraged, and house-made ingredients) really has no match. If o could recommend Forage for a “bib gourmand” I would. The food is star-worthy but unpretentious.

    Nothing special. The food was decent but didn’t stand out. The so-called 'tasting menu' is more akin to a prix-fixe menu, as it includes just two small plates (appetizers) and one main course. They offer four options: omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian, and vegan. We tried the vegan and omnivore menus, but the main course for the omnivore option was simply 'caldo verde' with fish and seafood, which seemed more appropriate for the pescatarian option. Given that they had a steak option on the regular menu, we expected the omnivore tasting menu to feature the steak instead.

    Our waiter & host were lovely, well informed about all aspects of the beverages & food. The space is very, very intimate, and very tight quarters, so noise and convos can be a bit distracting. The food was delicious, and the inventive takes on baba ghanoush & caldo verde (a deconstructed spin on the Portuguese classic stew) were impressive and well thought through. The pricing though on cocktails, wines and food was a bit staggering. I don’t mind paying the “pandemic-born” kitchen service fee so all workers get fair wages, as I’ve been a restaurant worker in my past, but I do think a bill of over $100 per person with tip for an entree a piece, a shared starter, and 2 beverages each is excessive. I’d love to go back and see what new offerings they’ve come up with, (and I live at a walkable distance, hence the 2 glasses of wine!) but I’m not sure my budget can support it.

    Quiet enough to have a conversation with enough noise to not feel hushed. Server was attentive while allowing a pleasant pace to our meal. Unique menu options. We tried the steak, mushroom sausage and a squash dish. All tasty and ample size portions. French press coffee was fresh, hot and enjoyable. Tucked away in a quiet a neighborhood. Take public transport or an Uber. Parking is not easy although they have a few spots in the adjacent lot.

    Forage is such a unique and intimate experience. As a vegetarian it is sometimes difficult to navigate tasting menus. Forage removes any difficulty and even allows for my meat loving counterparts to enjoy the same experience of a wine pairing menu. All at a very reasonable price for the level of detail and quality of the food. Hats off to the chefs and staff. Thank you!
