Located inside the Westley Hotel in the heart of Downtown Calgary, Fonda Fora is an exciting new contemporary Mexican restaurant brought to you by the folks at Thank You Hospitality.

Food and Beverage Magazine 30 under 30 winner, Chef Emilio Montenegro has crafted a menu based on his upbringing in Northern Mexico and his journey in kitchens across the world. Much of our concept is based around the heirloom corn of Mexico. We import four types of corn from a collective of heirloom farms in Mexico in order to provide the best product we can. We process this corn from raw and turn it into masa for dishes all across our menu, like our Sope, Tamal, and of course, Tortillas. There is a saying in Mexico that we live by at Fonda Fora: "Sin maiz no hay pais," meaning without corn, there is no country. Maiz is the lifeblood of Mexican cuisine, and we are excited to present it to you as it should be.

                                        Food was good, drinks were excellent. Menu felt a bit unclear and servers were super nice but not very attentive, it wasn’t busy to justify the amount of time it took to take orders. Our dinner could have been an hour shorter had they been more on it.

                                        Had an amazing time at Fonda Fora! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the Molcajete and Salmon Crudo – both were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a great dining spot, Fonda Fora is a must-visit!

                                        I was REALLY looking forward to this dining experience, we had booked this over a month prior as it was rated high. However the best I can offer is it’s completely overrated. We arrived and were seated outside and even though there were only a few people outside, they quickly seated another couple directly beside us- which was so very very odd since the area was very open table wise. Drinks arrived much after appetizers, table water was warm, warm olives (as advertised) were given cold, salsa flight was underwhelming at best. Cocktails arrived not fully filled in glass, and glasses were very sticky on the outside which was extremely unappealing. Staff did not seem attentive, and was highly uninterested to be serving us. We planned on having dinner but paid our bill and left after cocktails and appetizers, and went to a much nicer restaurant to enjoy our evening. The restaurant’s decor is the only thing making a 10/10 in my opinion. Very sad because the potential is there. Don’t waste your money and definitely not worth wasting your time. DISAPPOINTED!

                                        Very eclectic Mexican-themed restaurant. Upscale-casual dining. Great vibes, with a sizeable covered patio. Menu was extensive, especially cocktail options. Food was as visually appealing as it was to the palate. Recommend the freshly made guacamole, as well as the Burrata & watermelon dish. The halibut entree was tasty, albeit perhaps not as well-portioned as one might think. Definitely get more than one dish to go along with your entree to share if you are hungry. Would return to sample their other appetizers and smaller dishes, as this was a very solid choice for a foodie here in Calgary.

                                        I went for breakfast and the place was nice, clean and cozy. BUT, I ordered my food and it Took several 45m to come. My pancakes wasn’t cooked, and my juice had fruit flies and it was warm. We also order eggs and potatoes and they were cold, not even warm. Overall food wasn’t good at all.

                                        I had one of the best dining experiences here. I took my dad for father’s day and the service and food was exceptional. The food was absolutely out of this world, and our server went above and beyond to make this a memorable dining experience. I will absolutely be coming back here for more occasions
