We had a great time at fogo de chao for my wife's birthday. The service was excellent both delivering the meat and clearing the table. The dessert took longer than expected, and that may have been because we thought we had ordered and had not been speaking to our server. The people created a festive environment amd we enjoyed it. Overall, we would come again for a special occasion. I want to talk about the table location. Our table for six was at the bottom of the stairs at the portland location and the draft from the open door was blowing straight down about 50 feet. My mother in law and 8 year old put on their coats because it was cold. This went on through the last half of our 2 hour meal experience. The problem seemed to be that the front bar could not accommodate the dining parties arriving on a Sunday night between 6 pm and 8:30 to check in and doors were held open. If I come back I will be more specific about a table location request. As a side note, all the windows to the restaurant were covered in plywood. The restaurant looked abandoned as I walked up to open the door. I don't know the reason, but it was not a welcoming exterior.

We got sat 30 minutes late. Ribs and ribeye never came by. Not much organization with hostess but over all it was good.

Our primary server was excellent. Attentive and pleasant. Salad bar offerings were excellent, although we missed the waffles.

Waited 50 minutes after our reservation time to be seated, waiter had an attitude, had to keep asking for water refilled and bartender had to bring our drinks to the table after 30 mins. Was very disappointing.

We are understanding when restaurants are understaffed but seating us 45 minutes late on a Sunday night is a bit much. Hosts could do better in setting expectations

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. However, we did leave feeling like we should’ve just gone to a regular steakhouse and ordered an individual steak. It was pretty difficult getting people to come by the table to serve meat. We didn’t feel that we got exactly what we were looking for. It didn’t seem like the servers had much control over when or what type of meat was served at your table. Probably won’t visit again, but I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience.

This was the least table cut I've ever had, perhaps because I ordered the bone marrow and Porterhouse separately, which attracted less attention, but the flavor was as steady as ever.

The salad bar has a wide variety of choices including hearts of palm, lox, artichoke hearts, broccoli, salami, papaya, and different types of lettuce and salad dressing. The different types of meat came by our table with regularity.

It was a birthday celebration. There were some food that they were out of, and some of the meats were fatty or too salty.
