Le Fogo de Chão est un steakhouse brésilien authentique - une churrascaria – et est devenu une référence au Brésil depuis 1979. The food was stellar as usual. The service however was sub par at best. Meat selections initially were well timed. As the meal progressed those selections were few and far between. We waited 15+ minutes for our bill then an other 10+ minutes to have the credit card run. Very disappointing meal.

The meat was fatty, greasy and had no flavor. Our service was horrendous and we had to ask for help. The desserts still tasted frozen. 🤷‍♂️

Our reservation was at 7:15, never got seated, they seated people who arrived after us, 15 minutes passed, so we left. What is the point of reservations if we don’t get seated at that time? Why not mention the name that’s under the reservation instead of asking “oh reservation for two?” And then taking random people. Makes no sense. First bad experience.

Normally I think of “excellent service” when I think of Fogo. This experience was completely different. The serving team was friendly, but barely came to our table. We finished our drinks and the empty glasses sat on our table for the rest of the meal. We had to get our own plates from the salad bar. Our waters were only refilled after we tracked down a waiter and asked. Everyone at tables around us also had empty glasses and were not being attended to. The same five meats kept coming around over and over, and the other options on the menu we never saw until the very end when we tracked down a waiter to ask. We did not receive the starters (mashed potatoes, fried bananas, etc.) until an hour into the meal. Our problem was with the service. The salad bar food was very good and had good options - and the meats we did get tasted good but were a bit on the dry side.

Food was decent. Waiter disappeared for long stretches of time. We ran out of water, had to find a waiter to order dessert.

The quality across restaurants varies by location. Be prepared to spend a nice amount of dollars for ok service.

We normally LOVE Fogo. We did not remember it was Restaurant Week. Service was pretty bad. Plates were thrown at the table with mashed potatoes. Server forgot about us... we had to flag someone else for drinks and desserts. No hearts of palm in the salad bar. We were sat the the back behind a column so my husband and the guest of honor could not even be served by gauchos. We asked to be changed to a different table ( we are regulars... and they said, no we are separating dinner guests form lunch guests it was 2 pm) . After we said "plated are being thrown at us" , servers came around a bit... but then disappeared. Just because we are regulars we will be back... if it was my first time ... I would never come back.

We’ve come here on and off over the last decade, for special events. It is always a wonderful experience. Tonight was our 10-year anniversary and again, a super pleasant evening.
