Le Fogo de Chão® (prononcé fo-go dèe shoun) est un authentique steakhouse du sud du Brésil. En 1979, le Fogo® a commencé à faire partager les méthodes de préparation de la viande des gauchos à Porto Alegre, au Brésil. Aujourd'hui, les chefs gauchos grillent de façon experte chacune des 20 découpes de viande et vous proposent un service continu à table. Every time it’s busy at the downtown Fogo, meats do not come around appropriately. We often see the servers with full spits of meat going to other tables near us, but not ours. We paid the full price for all meat and buffet, and did NOT get served filet, ribeye, or lamb chops once! I will never go back to downtown Fogo. Terrible value.

Last time was great. This time - not so much, Food was good. Guys cutting meat were fast. Beyond that, service was poor. Staff barrelled through the restaurant expecting you to step out of their way even when they were empty handed. Twice, as I was reaching to serve myself for the salad bar a staff member removed the serving dish and walked away to fill it up, as if I wasn’t there. Waiter taking order was inattentive and unfriendly. Never asked if we wanted a second cocktail because HE NEVER CAME BACK. Asked for coffee from a different server - took her 20 minutes and it arrived cool with grounds floating in it. Had an upset stomach since an hour past eating and it’s 12 hours later. The valet was lovely - he was the most professional of everyone we encountered. We were a table of four and we all noticed. I doubt I’d return after spending a night on the toilet.

I had a great time at Fogo de Chao. The service was fast, the food was excellent and the salad bar was delicious. This is my favorite restaurant and I’ll be back.

PROS: Reservations were at 7:30. We were checked in and sat right away. CONS: I waited approximately 30 mins to get my first drink (cucumber mint smash). The meat being brought out was lukewarm…. Which had both my friend and I feeling sick later that night. You’re better off dining next door at wildfire for quality steak and in my opinion a better dining experience. Also, I’ve previously dined at the Oakbrook & Rosemont location. This is my first time at the downtown location and I can say my experiences were great at the 2 suburb locations — perhaps it was just an off Tuesday for them.

Made a reservation at 9PM to celebrate Veterans Day with my boyfriend who served in the Marine Corp, had to make a late reservation because my boyfriend worked and had school so it was a late dinner, got there about 10 minutes early and were seated right away. Meats were coming out quickly and were tasty up until about 9:30 when we were told they were going to start to take the salad bar down. After that almost no meat was coming around. That was unfortunate seeing as the restaurant closes at 10. I’ve worked in the service industry and understand workers may want to go home and I’m not the type to stay past closing time, but really wish we would’ve had access to the meat and salad bar until then.. Also, was really excited for filet mignon that only came once right before we left and had already ordered dessert. We normally don’t have dinner this late, but wanted to celebrate my boyfriend’s service. Ended up being an almost $200 dinner and we still left a little hungry. ):

Service for not liking a drink…. Not the greatest. Received pushed back for wanting to just exchange it and grab wine…..Celebrating my birthday and doing that… Not the best impression. And then, at the end they forgot to comp that drink and then still charged me for the last wine I had, after giving us the bill. At that point, the restaurant should’ve just comped the wine glass. However, rest of the dinner went great and my guests and I had a great time.
