Flying Bull Restaurant and Brewery is a veteran and woman owned business located in the heart of Durham’s Innovation District. Using only the best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, Chef Daniel Arenas concocts your favorite American Classics as well as globally–inspired tapas and large plates. This is not your average pub menu! Specialty dishes include everything from bone marrow beef tartare to caviar service. The Flying Bull proves that craft beer and elevated cuisine are a perfect pairing. We also offer an extensive wine list and full service cocktail bar. Looking to host a special event for business or family occasion? Our large beer hall is the perfect solution. Prix fixe full menu or catered hors d’oeuvres available.

Amazing food quality and creative menu items. Thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the jazz band. Beer, cider & bourbon all delicious!

Food was okay; service could have been better but the value was the biggest piece. Everything was a la carte and had a cost associated with it. Just to get a ‘kids’ cheeseburger required additional cost for the cheese and to have it come with fries. It seemed overly pricey for the amount of food we got. The best part was the beer.

What an amazing experience, and not my first one here. I had the cheese board - delicious cheeses and perfectly toasted bread. Their peach wheat beer is amazing, and my husband enjoyed their stout. The pork chop is huge and so good, per my husband. The fries are addictive - we get them as truffle fries whenever we come (which is often). Everything is great! Our server tonight, Aidan, was very knowledgeable of the menu and made us feel welcome.

We had a very disappointing meal at the Flying Bull. The restaurant appeared to be well staffed and not terribly busy but our server disappeared for long periods of time and wasn’t very attentive. We ordered the dip trio for an appetizer. The dips were generous and tasty but we received very few pita and pretzel bites for dipping. When we requested some more bites we were denied. One of the items we ordered for dinner never came to the table but we were charged for it. It took the server 20 minutes to correct the bill. We were never asked if we wanted another round of drinks or dessert. Overall I felt like the focus was on the Flying Bull’s convenience not the comfort of the patrons. We’re unlikely to return.
