Welcome to Floris at VMFA!

Our standard tea tier menu and tea service is offered daily and is priced at $45 per guest, not inclusive of tax and service. We kindly require each guest's participation.

Floris invites you to immerse yourself in a culturally enriching tearoom inspired experience at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Robins Sculpture Garden, Floris is a community gathering space located in VMFA’s Pauley Center.

Take a mid-day escape and indulge in delightful pleasures for the palate, including expertly crafted blends from guest tea makers. Chef Chainey Kuykendall’s use of fresh ingredients from local vendors and importers further enhances Floris’s celebration of cultures and community.

Floris is proud to partner with local vendors, farms and tea importers.

Nice experience but a little pricey. Felt like we were in a ‘lobby’ area instead of in an elegant tearoom. Food and tea and service were good.

The ambiance was lovely but other than that everything else was just good, not great, not exceptional in any way. Especially considering the price, I would not go again.

We came in at 2 o'clock, the food which is fairly fairly unimaginative, was definitely tired, especially the crab. Too much sweet. Bread of egg salad sandwich was on the stale side, probably prepped in the AM. ,

I enjoyed the Japanese inspired menu! Looking forward to the fall menu! Service was excellent! The tea room is beautiful and calming.

Only issue was the noise level, but not much they can do in the room to cut down noise how loud with so many talking in the room.

Everything was fine except the food. It was rather bland. Not bad, but nothing you would be interested in eating again. Maybe trying to merge Japanese flavors and foods into a traditional British tea service is just not a good idea. Some things are better left to what people have come to expect, i.e. a traditional tea in a traditional tea room.

It was a lovely experience. The setting was exactly what you’d expect from an upscale tea room. Service was also good. Food items were appropriately sized for tea but disappointing in terms of flavor. The descriptions promised interesting flavor combinations but actual dishes didn’t deliver on that promise. Large number of fun and interesting tea choices.
