Welcome to Floris at VMFA!

Our standard tea tier menu and tea service is offered daily and is priced at $45 per guest, not inclusive of tax and service. We kindly require each guest's participation.

Floris invites you to immerse yourself in a culturally enriching tearoom inspired experience at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the Robins Sculpture Garden, Floris is a community gathering space located in VMFA’s Pauley Center.

Take a mid-day escape and indulge in delightful pleasures for the palate, including expertly crafted blends from guest tea makers. Chef Chainey Kuykendall’s use of fresh ingredients from local vendors and importers further enhances Floris’s celebration of cultures and community.

Floris is proud to partner with local vendors, farms and tea importers.

Lovely birthday lunch with friends. Excellent service with a wonderful prix fixe menu, which changes seasonally and in conjunction with the museum special exhibits. I would definitely recommend dining here for special occasions. A tad on the expensive side for an every day lunch.

Our first time there. Heard about it from a friend. Was more than pleasantly surprised. Everything was really great. I loved the menu, it was very unique and delicious. The tea selection was excellent and we enjoyed tasting four different teas. We will definitely be back.

This place deserves to be the top rated tea place in Richmond. The food was innovative riffs on the classic tea menu incorporating Japanese influences as a tribute to the Samurai exhibit. And so many tea options! Truly a talented culinary team.

It was a lovely tea. The food was very good and service was gracious. I have had tea at Harrods in London so am somewhat spoiled by the elegant nature of how the tea was served (steeped at the table) along with a three course delivery of treats, starting with an amuse bouche. Would have appreciated music. But it was an experience I will share when family comes to visit.

It was very pleasant, but I wish it had bookings until 4PM. We went to the Samurai Exhibit at 1PM and had to curtail our visit to get to Floris by 2:30. However, we loved the food and tea tasting and will be back!

Nice experience but a little pricey. Felt like we were in a ‘lobby’ area instead of in an elegant tearoom. Food and tea and service were good.
