Under the culinary direction of Chef Somoza, Flora’s menu captures the spirit of Mediterranean seaside towns from Saint Tropez to Capri to Marbella, spotlighting the bountiful seafood and vibrant produce that are hallmarks of coastal cuisine. With a passion for fresh ingredients rooted in his childhood in the Spanish countryside, picking wild blackberries and foraging mushrooms and wild asparagus, Chef Somoza is drawn to local, farm-to-table cooking.

The Flora menu is made up of regional ingredients such as sweet corn, seasonal vegetables and fruits, local seafood and small farm sourced meats, and is anchored by a crudo bar and fish main courses including Dover Sole, Bank Scallops, pan seared halibut. A skilled pastry chef and boulanger, Somoza is also putting an emphasis on quality breads and an impressive offering of house-made pastries and ice cream, and the most delicious creme brulee.

Eating at Flora was a great experience for all your senses. The food was delicious, the decor was beautiful and the view of the harbor at sunset was stunning. I would highly recommend Flora to all. A+++

This was a special occasion meal and we had an excellent excellent time ,service food ambience all over the top. I would give everything an 11 if we could fabulous everything thanks for the great service.

Such a nice ambiance and view! Had the Flora seasonal salad, the Dover sole and the sticky toffee pudding and I would get the same dishes again! All delicious!

Beautiful dining room, great harbor views, true fine dining and terrific service. The wine list was not expansive but the choices were excellent. Cocktail menu was creative and fun. The food was fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Elegant, classy but not stuffy. Million dollar water views. The food was good. This is a brand new restaurant and they need to work some minor things out. They have the best managers and staff and are setup for success. This will soon be an impossible place to get into if not already. Very happy to have a new place to slip into for dinner on Thames.

Waitress was wonderful and service was fast. Drinks were excellent. Steak tartare was terrible. Mush. All other food was OK.

Flora was amazing! We came on a Friday around 8:30 with a reservation and were seated immediately. To get the downside out of the way, we were sat at 8:30 and didn’t get orders in until 9:10, and then served starters at around 9:30. We ended up eating our main at close around 9:45-10 the service was a bit slow, BUT not due to the servers really, there were just so many people in there it was crazy. We had the wine flowing though so we weren’t terribly bothered! Now on to the good stuff! We ordered oysters as starters which were insanely fresh, came with horseradish, cocktail sauce, a vinegar and lemon. 10/10 We also ended up getting some focaccia and iberico ham on the house as a little savory treat and it was very good! Our mains were the paella dish and the fish of the moment which happened to be salmon! Both dishes were exceptional, paella took longer but we found out it was due to it being prepared as an individual dish in a paella pan so that was extra special! The salmon came prepared very simply letting the fish shine, it came with a sautéed squash which we couldn’t stop eating! 10/10 for both! For dessert we did the basque cheesecake and the crema which were both extremely good I would say the cheesecake was unlike the texture you’d expect, more dense, but still really good! We’d say 8/10 and 10/10 respectively haha. Overall this is a wonderful spot to revisit, we definitely will be back again. Great food, great ambiance, and really nice staff! If you’re on the fence about going, just do it, you’ll love it!

What a charming addition to the Newport dining scene. There is nothing else like it. The space is lovely and the food is delicious! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is also a cozy, elegant bar on the first floor to start the evening or to top it off. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience for a new restaurant. The food was excellent and service was great!! Would we return absolutely!! Once the word gets out how fabulous this place is you won’t be able to get it! The decor and views are just stunning. Would return? Yes in a heartbeat!!!
