This was my third time visiting the restaurant. This is the first time I enjoyed it as well as I did. I ordered fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and greens. My food was fresh and good. My server was superb.

I ordered the oxtails and I know that oxtails are tuff but these were extremely tuff. My friend ordered the smothered pork chops and they actually liked those but the Mac and cheese was bland. Had the fried green tomatoes and the tomatoes were raw! Overall for the prices they charge they can give you some bread. They actually make you pay for the corn bread $4 for a muffin! When you patronize a soul food restaurant cornbread is included with your meal and not a side dish it’s a staple . The food was just average but our server Taylor was amazing other than that I was not impressed with the food. I think the restaurant is overpriced and overrated but that’s just my opinion. I would probably give the restaurant another visit but it’ll be awhile before that happens!! I must try the devil eggs and the fried chicken. I will say that the restaurant is very decorative! Overall I would have to give my experience a thumbs down because the food wasn’t very good and I really do have a problem getting charged for cornbread at a soul food restaurant. Especially when I’m spending $30 on just my meal alone. Throw in the appetizer and the cocktails and you know that the cocktails aren’t cheap. I think you should give customers bread with there meal!!

The food is not great, the marinade leaves the chicken pink, so it looks as if it is not done. The fried green tomatoes is fried to hard, the batter on them is not good. The sweet potatoes is tasteless. The best thing I had was the sweet tea. Not to mention we were giving dirty plates. The plate on top was clean, when I lifted it up all the ones on the bottom was covered in cake. My son birthday dinner was ruined.

Too much gravy in the shrimp and grits and not enough grits. It would probably be more appropriately called shrimp and gravy. Fried devil eggs were good and different. Charred okra was surprisingly good.

This was my second visit big difference from opening day my plate was dirty smothered pork chops was tough & restaurant was very cold

My second time going and no disappointments. Delicious food especially the macaroni and cheese. Will definitely return.

I always relish my dining experiences at Fixin. The food quality is consistently top-notch, and the flavors have remained delightfully the same since my visit over Labor Day Weekend 2024. It's a place where I truly feel at home, as the friendly atmosphere means everyone knows your name and treats you like family. Highly recommended for a memorable meal!
