The First In Last Out (FILO), is a family run free-house in the Old Town of Hastings. Alongside our award winning beer, we serve quality food prepared from scratch. We offer lunch and dinner everyday, including our ever popular Tapas night (Monday), Indian Thali (Thursday) and Sunday roasts.

The brewery is located just two minutes away from the pub, where we produce five regular ales using a full mash-tun process. We love live music and host regular Sunday evening gigs, of which details can be found on our website.

The pub is popular with locals and tourists alike, who love to get cosy in our booth seating or warm up on cold winters' days around our unique central fireplace.

Dogs and children are most welcome.

Very friendly and welcoming pub with excellent service. Nice selection of own brewed beers. Very authentic tapas. Best patatas bravas ever!

Very friendly and helpful - service was exceptional! Especially the lady from Glasgow who made our evening! She was very warm and friendly and helped ensure we were able to eat when and how we wanted, sharing small plates as we had had a full lunch earlier. It was especially important as we used to come to the FiLo regularly with our mother and the Stables theatre friends and we were having a family reunion in Hastings and scattering her ashes on the Downs so thank you all for making it a special last evening!

This is our second visit to FILO and once again it didn’t disappoint. Food is always fresh and well cooked. Menu is varied and not overpriced. The staff are welcoming and helpful!

We visited the restaurant in an old town pub on a Tuesday night during our Hastings family holiday and were quite taken aback by the quality of the food. I had the seabass and was served a very generous portion of tasty fish and vegetables - at least as good as I have tasted anywhere else and the atmosphere was warm, friendly and relaxing. I was too full for dessert but tasted some of my son's and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Reasonable bar and restaurant prices. This is our third time here and the positive experience has been consistent. We will continue to make our way here when we visit Hastings.
