The First In Last Out (FILO), is a family run free-house in the Old Town of Hastings. Alongside our award winning beer, we serve quality food prepared from scratch. We offer lunch and dinner everyday, including our ever popular Tapas night (Monday), Indian Thali (Thursday) and Sunday roasts.

The brewery is located just two minutes away from the pub, where we produce five regular ales using a full mash-tun process. We love live music and host regular Sunday evening gigs, of which details can be found on our website.

The pub is popular with locals and tourists alike, who love to get cosy in our booth seating or warm up on cold winters' days around our unique central fireplace.

Dogs and children are most welcome.

Lovely restaurant in basement on the pub and lovely old pub. Food and service excellent. The pub is also on a lovely historic street.

This our second visit to the FILO for curry Thursday . The home cooked food is outstanding, the service cheerful, helpful and efficient. What a fabulous experience to see a pub being authentic, different and creative. Congratulations

Revisited the FILO after 30 years. Still as good as ever. Fabulous food & wonderful locally brewed beer. A lovely atmosphere. Thank you. We'll be back (innless than 30 years!) Cheers 🍻

Consistent high quality food. All staff friendly and very helpful/attentive. Good seating in a clean comfortable space with character. My 14 year old loves to go for a meal here as much as I do. It is very family friendly.
