By far the best restaurant in the area. The food is very delicious. The service is unmatchable. The atmosphere and interior design is in par with the best upscale restaurants. Yet prices are very reasonable.

Nice place with good energy. Server was attentive until place started to get crowded. Then it slacked off a bit with longer wait times for food and drinks. We were surprised that common items such as cranberry or orange juice were not available at the bar for mixed drinks. With the upscale feel of the place, we were also surprised that there were no options such as cappuccino nor expresso as after dinner drinks.

Service was outstanding. Our waiter kept us totally informed on our possible menu choices. He was very knowledgeable. Menu is somewhat limited, but choices were diverse. The three of us each chose a different entre, but each thought their selection was the best.

This was our second trip to Finnbar and everything was excellent. Food was really delicious and fresh and all plates were cleaned. The waitstaff was terrific and paced the meal perfectly. The interior is understated and charming, and this is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the region.

It pains me to give Finnbar only three stars, because my wife and I, and our accompanying friends were so eager to have a good experience, since we go back decades to the Frenchtown Inn with Rob and Holly Long. However, I was disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive. It went bad when I ordered Jack Daniels on the rocks and they didn't have Jack. A bar without Jack Daniels.... My corn soup was served cold and had to be returned for re-heating - and it was very tasty. And this was symptomatic of the unfortunately fundamental failure of Finnbar. Everything took verrrrry long to accomplish. It took 30-45 minutes between courses. Two of our party had pasta/veggie dishes that looked and tasted good. My wife and I had "Messy Giuseppe", a sort of Italian style sloppy joe . Mine was dry and falling apart, with no discernable flavor beyond overcooked pork. The accompanying chips were very good, the leafy green material not easily identifiable. The time between courses was not helped by the fact that I had what had to be the most uncomfortable chair in the restaurant universe. I noticed that there was a wide variety of seating types in the dining room. I'm sure mine was not unique. It seemed to us that they were unprepared for a busy Thursday night, six months after opening. Staffing seems to be a challenge they have not yet met. I wish them luck, but I'm not sure I want to return.

First time here - very attentive service and food was delicious. Limited options for carnivores but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
