service was very poor and it was not busy at all. Had to ask to order a drink 45 minutes after being seated, starter was bad undercooked and pasta too thick . Food was lacking flavour and bland pie was tasteless and chicken dry . Over all not a good experience

Me and my friend sat outside. Clean and pleasant courtyard with some seating under cover. We ordered from the lunch menu as these dishes are smaller portions than the mains. Nicely cooked and presented. Order taken at table and served by a polite member of staff. The pudding choice is enough and ours were delicious. Be aware the bill comes with 12.5% surcharge which we asked to be removed expecting to be able to add a tip of our choosing on payment however we were told this was not possible when paying by card, a shame. We've never experienced this before. The gentleman who dealt with the bill was unhelpful. Overall a pleasant experience with a good selection of food and alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.

On arrival the pub looked pleasant and inviting. We had booked a table for 2 and was seated by, I assume, the manager. A young lady was our server but unfortunately there was not much customer service from her. Quite abrupt, didn’t check on how our food was, put things down on our table and walked off without a word. We asked for the dessert menu and she took ages to come back over to us (25 mins) so we just took over selves over to the till and paid without desserts. Overall, ok but could have been a lot better.

Nice place and atmosphere with good service but the food lets it's down. Very average food and over priced for what you get Small portion sizes as well

It was the first time i have been here for lunch and certainty won’t be the last . The food,staff and everything about the place was fantastic.

Enjoyed a good meal after a long walk in the New Forest. Staff were attentive, food was made from good quality ingredients - the whitebait were delicious. Nice ambience. Would definitely go back if in the area again.
