The food was very good and excellent value. The service was excellent, with friendly and efficient staff. The dining room is very nice, well spaced, with good ambience and minimal background noise. My only criticism, which seems petty, is that the potatoes that accompanied the roast dinners were hard and not crispy as should be expected in a restaurant of that standard. Otherwise, well recommended

Pretty average experience, ok but nothing special, service very poor and charged at 12.5%. A typical chain pub meal that was memorable only because of its mediocrity

Hoped for a delicious Sunday lunch but instead got a plate of dry roast chicken and what appeared to be aunt bessie roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Veg was ok but creamed leeks were tough. High end prices, Toby carvery roast. Apologies Toby carvery.

Our waitress was sweet but did not listen to us carefully enough or write things down. Firstly she brought us a white when we’d asked for a red primitivo. We asked for 125ml of both glasses and when they came they were clearly 175ml. We questioned the size twice she reiterated that they were 125ml and then when the bill came it said 175ml. We asked three times for water to be replaced. She tried to take food away when I was still clearly eating Table was not cleared properly or wiped before bringing us pudding menus. I believe this problem to be a combination of better training required and listening better on her part or writing it down. If you are questioned by the customer it’s best to check. We come a lot as we like the food but this has totally put me off.

Wine was horrid needed to be exchanged. Food very disappointing. Some ingredients missing in one dish no explanation... Dessert had stale waffles in it. Main meals not good. £82 for 2 people so not cheap. When we expressed our disappointment and dissatisfaction we were told "sorry"...no offer to reduce bill or anything. DON'T BOTHER. STAY AWAY. EXPENSIVE POOR FOOD AND DRINK.

It was quiet at the time we arrived, but became busier later, We chose from the reasonably. Priced lunch menu and the coffee/pudding combo. The food was good and it was nice not to have a sugar overload with the samller pudding.

A nice venue, the service was always prompt although our server had very limited knowledge of the beers available. The food was good, and there was plenty of it. My only criticism is that our table was close to the kitchen counter and access which made it rather noisy.

Loved the food but charging for extra gravy!! Very disappointing! Discussed this with manager and it was taken off the bill. Extremely noisy inside so not very relaxing.
